Ignoring last season, pre-season has given us a glimpse of what Firmino is all about. He's barely broke a sweat so far, looks a bit overweight, but he consistently finds himself in the right place at the right time to put the ball in the back of the net. That's priceless. Some players can gloss over their deficiencies by scoring a few goals, or hit a bit of form and look better than they actually are, but Firmino is showing that his post Christmas form is no fluke.

Factor in his obvious skill and workrate and we're gonna have some player on our hands this year.

a lot of players take a while to settle in english football. The traditional examples are Henry and Pires at Arsenal.

I think that Klopp coming in as manager will have helped Bobby Firmino, but hopefully a break during the summer adds to that.

I think that the fact that Mane and Wjinaldum have both been transferred from english teams, might help us hit the ground running this season.

I am hoping that united, city and chelsea all have new players that take time to adjust. Last season was a perfect storm and Leicester ****in City took advantage. Well this season there has been a lot of managerial upheaval as well. So if you can start well, then you never know where it will take ya.

I love watching Bobby play & im so pleased he's ours. He makes the ridiculous look so bloody easy. He's one hell of a player alright & has the potential to be an immortal if he can find consistency.

Firmino is one of those players who will always be underrated as he scores "jammy" goals, they are nothing of the sort of course - you have to be there to score. That's his knack.

Does anyone else think he looks like Storm from X-Men Apocalypse?
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I don't understand how anyone can think he is not good enough. A good first season and will only get better!

He needs to do more, get involved in the game play, because games do pass him by. In the Milan game, he made more vertical runs, but last season, he hardly did that. Maybe having more of Klopp's tactics implemented this season will help, as he likes his players to bomb forward in numbers, which will suit Firmino to the ground. I don't see this world class player that people think we potentially could have. I wonder if his name is a contributory factor to it. I see a decent player with scope to becoming better, but not a top 10 player in world football.

We can't go into this season with Coutinho and Firmino performing at the same level as last season, if we want to progress. We need one of them to make the step up.

Yer whaaaa? Not been much wrong with our goalscoring or their numbers individually under Klopp.

Firmino and Coutinho did enough to secure top 4 last season. The problem was Klopp prioritised the UEFA cup over the league and we played our reserves for the last 2 months.

If we swap Wijnaldum with Lallana on last season's form, we are the second highest scorers in the league, just one goal behind City. Factor in the goals we can add from Grujic, a fit Sturridge, a fit Ings, a fit Henderson, then if Coutinho and Firmino repeat their feat last season then we're easily securing top 4. If they continue their improvement as they were showing under Klopp, then there is no reason we can't compete for the title.

Both basically had a 1 in 3 scoring ratio which is excellent for AM's/wingers. The problem wasn't what they contributed, but not having them on the pitch enough to make a difference.

We have Lallana who works his balls off yet never scores and we have Firmino who scores and assists plenty without ever seeming to do much else. I know which I'd rather. I really like him and think he'll only get better, big season out of him this year I'm sure.

Yep, it's mad anyone looks at Coutinho and Firmino and sees them as the problem! Far bigger problems up top last season were Sturridge being injured, the raw Origi, Benteke playing, Lallana not scoring many.

Once Benteke was dropped, Origi became boss, Sturridge was back etc our goalscoring was fine. 41 goals in our last 19 league games is brilliant. Hopefully Mane improves us further and if we can tighten up at the back with Matip, Karius etc we'll be nailed on for top 4 and more. Anyone who wants to stop us scoring in a game this season is going to have to perform amazingly.

Firmino also harries the opposition defence a lot leading to us gaining possession high up.
I think he's more essential to the way Klopp wants us to play than Coots.
