I have been more critical of Bobby than anyone. We know how good he can be and just how bad he can be. I don't think any of Bobby's biggest fans can deny how below par he has been over the last few years. I'm delighted he had a great game vs Bourn but he needs to show that form from now on in. I don't expect him to get them returns every week but the energy, movement and sharpness that he showed on Saturday used to be what we got from him most weeks. It's not an exaggeration that he was probably one of, if not our most important players at one stage. I don't know wtf has happened to him in the last few years but it is frustrating to know that he has a performance like that in his locker and we just don't see it enough anymore.

Spot on.
If a player has that ability then we need to see some consistent levels of effort and result.
Too many of these guys have been taking the piss.

it’s frustrating alright. With the standards that have been set the last few years by city and us, I think consistency is more important than peak ability. Can’t afford to have off days.

If firmino could play like he did on Saturday consistently he’d be in the first choice starting 11 ahead of Nunez and Jota. You’d think it’d annoy him when he’s starting CL finals on the bench, when he was talked about as part of the best front 3 in the world 2 years previous.

I guess he has one more game as a guarnateed starer, and then we can rotate him and Nunez (and Jota should be back soon surely???). My expectation is that Nunez will be brought back slowly - the first game he is available for is the derby - I don't expect him to start that!!!
