Not exactly been a season of amazing performances but cant remember one we've had in a game he's started! Sturridge drags the players up a level or two, this fella drags them down. But it's not really his fault, he is what he is and should never have been signed.

His performance in extra time the other night is his LFC career in microcosm.

Whilst today showed what decent strikers are capable of. Sturridge is a top striker because he's more often than not in the width of the posts and attacks balls played in to him. Origi also shows how a striker should finish when 1 on 1

The movement of Sturridge and Origi showed how Klopp wants the side to fit together, put them back into the side and things click, Benteke just isn't capable of playing in that type of system and to be honest his inclusion in the side negatively affects the performance of the side.

Little things like creating movement off the ball. Look at Cans goal as a prime example. Sturridge runs across the box drawing defenders to open up room for the shot. Benteke has never or will never do that unfortunately.

He just wants it all on a plate. Im sure he could finish given that players create chances for him. But he has to help out the team, he just doesnt.

Yeah, I thought this game really highlighted the lack of movement and positioning from Benteke. He would never have been there to receive Coutinho's cross, or make those decoy runs. He should be sold in the summer and until then I hope he's the fourth option behind Sturridge, Origi and Firmino.

He's clearly not dog****. His Premier League record shows he can be a very good striker in the right team and system. He's just a complete misfit for us.

Let's claw back as much as we can for him, but I think if he moves to the right team he'll be a regular scorer again.
