Today Klopp was confounded by discovering what happens when there is nothing to press, how does one counter attack a team that lets you have 80% the ball?

Well do don't as you can't, you need to find another way to get close to goal - the answer to that is obvious of course - open the scoring. If you concede first then you're basically ****ed against a 10 man defence with the way Klopp has the side set up. Hendo/Wij offers nothing as a defence and nothing in attack - they simply should not be playing together or deep. Can and Grujic would probably be the nearest to the right mix from the current squad, a proper ankle biter should have been bought.

Today we're not judging Klopp on Lovren, Hendo or Klavan. He can't be out there playing and Matip/Gomez aren't ready. This is not the BIG picture.

Klopp had a decent set of personnel in his hands up front. There we judge him. There we are repeating the same mistakes. He thinks the same pace-less attack that beat Arsenal is good enough to beat defensive Burnley. This is where Klopp is being judged and failing.
I think Klopps failings have been not buying a leftback and holding player

We are too easily counter attacked

      We need to stop that

You can't be patient if you risk being counter attacked and we are always open to that

We no longer have an outlet like Benteke. Klopp used to throw him on later on last year, when he was out of ideas.

The second goal was a classic example of where a more disciplined cm would have been able to break up play. Lucas for example.

We are playing with too many attacking players, the team needs balance.

              pretty goalie
              clyne - lovren - klavan - LB

              can - grujic
              wijnaldum

              mane - origi - ings

coutinho is a luxury player, firmino is too lightweight. lallana also.
none of them offer us a way to open up teams who defend deep.

its not a problem not having a DM so long as we have can and grujic together. if you take one out and replace with henderson, milner or wijnaldum then we are too lightweight and not enough pace or beef to hold the middle of the pitch.

too many pussies who go missing. no leaders. sack the ****ing lot, except mane and ings.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                Clyne----Lovren--Klavan---Moreno (reprieve!)
                -----------Can---Grujic
                ----Mane----Lallana---Coutinho
                --------------Origi

for me Clive but I'd much prefer that Klopp actually went out and bought a DM.

We have enough quality upfront to break teams down. We just don't defend well enough consistently to allow us to impose our football often enough. If it was 0-0 with 10-15 mins to go today, Burnley would probably wouldn't have taken too much heart in defending as they did with a two goal cushion.

                  Pragmatism isn't Klopp's forte.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Three defenders in the side today and no defensive midfielders.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I know what you mean BUT not every side that Dortmund played attacked them and they still managed to do all right vs them! I am torn on this because today frustrated the **** out of me but it will take time and a number of windows to get it right.

We were arguably without 5 first team starters today - Karius, Matip, Sakho, Can, Mane a d hopefully a new LB! That meant Mignolet (conceded 5 goals from his last 5 shots), Lovren, Milner at LB, Henderson all started and they are not good enough for us.

Oh and Clyne was also ****ing **** today.

You are being too harsh on individual players. Last week the same team scored 4 against Arsenal, so it doesn't make sense if you label them as not being good enough today!

It's consistency within the system we are playing in which is the issue, and mainly defending properly when we lose the ball. There was no counter pressing whatsoever for the two goals (or attempts at it were very lame). To me, we've still not got to grips with how Klopp wants to play yet, which is worrying because we should have had that well drilled into them already, as it forms the basis of what he's trying to achieve.

Did he pass his man once on the outside today? I must have sneezed at the moment it happened if he did.
