Can I just say that people call me out for being negative and I read this and think WTF. I'm not going to comment on the game, I saw barely 5 mins as I was at work. On hearing the result, I smiled. It wasn't unexpected. It's Liverpool football club. It's what we do.

I'm having fresh crab meat, vine tomatoes, lettuce, rocket and basil, with a crusty loaf washed down with the rest of the white rioja. I'm going to enjoy. I'll have a campari and tonic as well. Be good, be playful, share the love.

The honeymoon period for manager and owners is well and truly over. I want to see some fecking progress immediately on the transfer front. I want to see some progress on the pitch like perhaps working on our defence would be a start. And I want a trophy thus year and a major go at the title or they can both get to feck.
You all can slag me off for being negative but this club has been on the slide for far too long.

Spend some ****ing money.

I get that we would prefer to bring in our first choice players (Keita and VVD) but if we can't get those deals done, not bringing in anyone else in those positions is effetively writing off this season.

We need quality but we also need numbers, going into the season with just Lovren, Matip and Klavan as experienced CBs and Gomez and inexperienced kid as our only options there is madness, it isn't as if our defence is world class and only one or two players would improve it, there are alot of CBs out there who would improve our backline, we need to bring in the best one that we can.

You can read the comments after the post but I've never heard of him before so absolutely no idea wrt the veracity.

I will say that, if true, then there's nothing stopping Klopp calling out the owners, ala Mourinho and Conte etc. Next three weeks will be telling.

The Dortmund stuff could be another black mark for Michael Edwards... I've been skeptical about him since the start since he's learning on the job at the ninth highest earning club in the world. I need some convincing on him regardless if this is bollocks or not.

Most likely bollocks. What does seem strange to me is Klopp saying there is no plan B, C, D etc. I take that as FSG not putting the money up for VVD and Keita or Klopp being mental not going for alternatives. I'd go for the former.

We can't afford to allow the window to close and us not hav brought players in, and if we don't, we need to know the reasons why. i.e. whether Klopp had the money but didn't want to spend it or if the owners aren't coughing up the cash.

Someone pointed out earlier today that Klopp has had 4 transfer windows and hasn't felt the need to improve upon Mignolet, Lovren and Moreno. We will never win anything with those players being relied upon. Add in there the patchy form of Matip and the pedestrian midfield and you can see where this is all going again. 4th at best - that's not really what we're supposed to be about.

Someone is at fault here - Klopp possibly, FSG possibly - either way someone is culpable. We'll have more games to play this season but the same lacking is there still - no squad depth and poor first choices.

Sometimes you don't get what you want, for whatever reason. It could be the lack of funds, the player is overpriced, the club are unwilling to sell etc. I am hoping that we haven't gone to plan B because we genuinely believe that we can still do a deal for first choices and not because we have decided if we can't have our first choice we won't get anyone. If we had a world class side and a strong squad and the one player who could improve us was unavailable then I can understand not signing someone else, but we aren't in that situation, not only do we need top quality we also need numbers, Matip, Lovren, Klavan and Gomez are not enough CBs for us to get through the season.
