Absolutely nothing in these quotes to suggest he is not given backing.

Whilst I agree, he'd better finish this season in the top four with a flourish and a decent run in the champs league. The way things are going some fans will want his head if Salah so much as misses a few games. Or rather they'll blame it on FSG. Not so sure myself - pretty sure he could have bought a few fillers this window if he'd wanted to.
      Really?

An excerpt from Raphael Honigstein's book on Klopp:

        Krawietz:
Successful combination football depends on two people having the same idea at the same time. One has the ball, the other starts a move. A coach's job is to practice these sequences to instil an idea, repetition and situations, to increase the chance that they will work under real live conditions, when there's pressure and an opponent interfering. The alternative is to rely on total individual quality, on being simply superior. But that's not our approach. We can't afford these players; we have never been able to afford these players at any of the clubs we have worked for. That's why the idea always takes precedence for us.

So we have sold Phil, loaned Studge and bought VVD - overall weaker in my book and Klopp and co are taken a massive gamble.

Second spot is there for the taking - I hope we don’t regret it because all these players we have lined up in the summer mightn’t fancy the Europa league!

sturridge, didnt play and coutinho has only played 14 times this season in the league. Our weakness most seasons are defensive, Just bought in the worlds most expensive defender....got to be pretty good!!!

Coutinho is a massive loss but we are 3points off 2nd, scored at least 10 more than most of our rivals, let in 10 more ....but VVD can hopefully help there.

We have only lost 3 times, think Klopp is doing an incredible job...

As much as I would love him at our club I think he would take half a season to settle into Klopp's style here. Its different from Dortmund because Klopp doesn't have the once-classy Dortmund midfielders. We don't have time (vital PL points at stake) and money (salaries, sign-ons, agents) to take a gamble on him and then for it to not work out.

                      Wish we could though.

Klopp is going a fantastic job but the club hierarchy(inc Klopp) and playing Russian roulette with the season based on the Jan window.

If it comes off for them fair play but whatever about Sturridge going there is no logic in Phil going as he'd arguably be worth more in the summer and there is no way he'd down tools with a World Cup on.

Even if we do get away with it and get top 4 it will have been inspite of this window. We have taken an unnecessary gamble.

On the face of it, it looks like we have, but we've been here before. People said the same last January, that we threw away any chance of top 4 by not reinforcing. Pre-season we weren't going to compete because all our rivals strengthened, whereas all we did was sign another winger that we didn't need.

Klopp obviously has faith in his own coaching ability, so how long before we start giving him credit, rather than dismissing his achievements as fortunate or in spite of his actions?

I was surprised and disappointed that we didn’t sign another attacker this window. I thought we needed one, even if Coutinho had stayed. It is what it is though and Klopp obviously thinks he has enough at his disposal to see us though, so looking at his track record so far, I’m optimistic that he will.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not really in spite of it, maybe it will be because of. There are infinite possibilities.

What if we had bought someone who destabilised the entire squad and made us worse. A big ego player that demanded to play in a certain position that didn't work out. Like hopefully Man U and Arsenal have done?

If we win the CL, we have 21 games left.

We can rotate the front six for some League games and play strongest team in CL and big PL.

We have: Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Ox, Lallana, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Ings, Solanke, Woodburn. Mane can play CF as can Salah if we play 4-4-1-1 which we have switched to on occasion. I still wouldn't expect Ings, Solanke or Woodburn to do much more than occasional sub appearances.

We will drop points, it is innevitable even if we had signed someone - and the reaction on here will be apoplectic.

Has any signing ever destabilised a whole club? I've played with footballers I couldn't stand. It didn't make one iota of difference on the pitch. History is awash with players who hated each other but played well together despite of it, won trophies together even.

Anyway, I largely take your point, we're in a good position now and have an amazing manager so there's every chance we can pull off fourth or better this season. Little point in dwelling on the window for the rest of the season.
