Shankly built us from a lot ****ter than Klopp did. And Paisley just won things for fun. But I can see where you're coming from

Up there with Shankly, We will be watching clips of Klopp for the next 30 years....The transformation has been truly amazing.

He had to take on the legacy of these absolute behemoths and has done so, and kind of created a new club for us in doing so.

The football we are witnessing, and that is not as in individual moments of brilliance, but in overall team play augmented by individual brilliance is the best I've ever witnessed in my life.

It's hard to compare era's; the professionalism and training is next level now. But the old teams, good though they were are nothing on this. Had they had the same money, training etc then maybe they could have managed the same.

A couple more titles and it will be no contest.

Yeah. He was hardly going to say, I can't believe they haven't done it already, was he.

He did say all the other statues weren't built until they were no longer with us ans he'd prefer to live 30/40 years first. Hopefully half of those years will be while managing us.

IMO you can't have a statue of someone while they are still a manager or a player, you need to wait until they have left/retired.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's defo more comparable to Shankly than paisley in the sense that he masterminded a transformation, but really they're not comparable - the game is so different now, and with the money that drives the sport now, especially in England, what Shankly did would be beyond impossible. In any case, who cares about meaningless rankings- we have had some great managers and Klopp is right up there with them.

I re-watched his first press conference a few weeks ago. It's amazing how spot on he got everything. Not just about 4 years to win a title or whatever, but about how we will do it our own way, we will write our own history, we need to change from doubters to believers.

Also look at how the global brand has grown since he came in - LFC and especially Klopp are loved allover the world, now more than ever(Even before we won any trophies). You have an NBA coach in USA who never used watch soccer, tweeting after our games and quoting klopp in their team talks! He's got such a good chemistry with the fans, everyone loves the guy, and he has so much time for fans and the community - whether its visiting the local bowls club in liverpool or having a few pints with the fans at the local lfc bar in Michigan, on pre season tour! And not just liverpool fans - he visits Everton fans in a Liverpool childrens hospital, and writes letters to Man U fans. The guy is pure class, on and off the field.

I would argue that financially the field of play was fairer in Shankly’s day. The wealth of the likes of City and Chelsea gives them a huge head start on clubs who seek to pay their own way. Looking at utd, they did at least make the money they spent. It was a fairer fight between them and us and they were better at it. We have now beaten all our fair competitors and also the financial dopers.

Lots of good quotes on the BBC this afternoon.

Get yourself a cold beer and indulge in these.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the videos of him dancing last night: "I do that from time to time. We were in a good mood, the music was good. The reason for coming together was the right one.

"I was always a better dancer than a football player, unfortunately I couldn't earn my life with dancing."

Klopp in response to message from a fan: "I can't say I will sign a lifetime contract but will be here for a while. Thank you so much, I don't think it's clearer for any other people what this means, this club is built on so many things and the soul of the club is the people, what the people bring in every day - Liverpool is music and football - both are emotions, we know what we do and who we do it for and I couldn't be more thankful for the support that we've had. It's why this could happen."

Klopp on emotions: "I don't know I was just not able to speak. Usually it's a good moment to have a speech to the players but I was just not able to do it I was completely overwhelmed, I was crying too much last night. I am fine now but last night I couldn't do a speech, I was too emotional. Being in this club when these things happen it's lucky. I'm really happy to be part of this."

Klopp on the supporters' celebrations outside Anfield last night: "I didn't see the pictures yet, I know it's a difficult time and I hope they did it in the appropriate way.

"It was clear people were in front of their houses, it was the best day of weather in Liverpool, but of course I understand."

More from Klopp to Sky Sports: "I don't want a statue that's not my motivation. It's clear the team are in a good moment, we are young enough to still go for something. It's a moment like last year's Champions League final - you carry on. It's good to be in this club at the moment."

Klopp's laughing because he didn't know about a potential guard of honour against Manchester City: "We will see, I don't think we can influence that, we are champions and on the pitch we will behave as though we have never won anything before."

Klopp on dealing with the pressure of Liverpool's history: "Without knowing it at the time, the most important thing I said to the players was that we have to create our own stories and own history.

"Meanwhile, the history is no burden any more. It is the basis for what we are doing.

"But when I came in I had to tell them not to compare themselves with anyone any more, some of the fantastic people who played for this club and won everything in the past.

"We needed to get the opportunity from our supporters to find our own way, and this is only possible because people never lost patience with us in any moment.

"Football management is a nice job but it is difficult one as well as we cannot always ask for time, we need to deliver immediately.

"People have to see the steps we are making and the people saw them because they wanted to see them. So this story was possible.

"We got rid of the heavy backpack. I took it off that day and never got it back."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC sports editor Dan Roan: "I'm happy. I'm really happy, I start understanding step by step what happened.

"Last night I was absolutely overwhelmed and didn't understand anything, what happened with my body, what happened with my emotions and stuff like this.

"I realised it was obviously really big, I knew that before but I don't think you can be prepared for a situation like this, I was not. Well, maybe you can, but I wasn't and so it hit me full, in my face, and when I've had similar situations you know that it's nice but it's intense as well.

"So I was happy after the game but I was happy as well when I went to bed and could sleep, finally, because it's a lot that's going through my mind in moments like this."

"I'm not sure if its always like this, I don't feel the pressure too much before it happens but when it happens the amount of relief shows how big the pressure was before so yes, mostly relief."

"It's not that it's important, that's just me. If I want to dance, I'll dance. I don't do it for the boys or whatever.

"We were in a good mood obviously, so it happened not for the first time on an evening event. The boys know that I like a dance from time to time, when it's appropriate and we have the opportunity to do it.

"Last night was a good moment in my life so I expressed that on the dance floor as well."

Jurgen Klopp, talking to Dan Roan, about the bond he has with his players: "Absolutely exceptional. I am really lucky because I had a very good relationship with all my teams but the mix of skill sets that these boys bring in here, plus the personality they bring is absolutely exceptional and only this combination of things makes it possible.

"There is no chance if the same skills but a different mindset or different personality, no chance and these boys to have the mix of all necessary things for successful football is absolutely exceptional.

"And on top of that they are really a bunch of top, top boys and I am really happy to be part of this moment. I was 100% involved in the decision making to bring them in and keeping them and stuff like this, but you need to be lucky as well with judging people and they educate themselves as well.

"It is not easy to be the strange guy, they are all individuals and different and that's good, but they have no real selfish characteristics, that's good."

"We can improve. The consistency that we've shown is difficult to improve because it's just insane but to win every game, I don't know if that is possible in a league.

"But if you'd have told me that from last season beginning to now I don't know if, what do we have now? 183 points or something, if you'd have told me that it would have been a 'nope, that's not possible' you cannot have this amount of points so yes, we can improve football wise, we have to.

"We have to bring in new things, other teams will defend us differently, we have to adapt but that is normal in life and in football. But the consistency, if we can keep it that would be a massive achievement already."

"I think it's probably more than luck but I cannot answer what it is properly because I don't think too much about it.

"We never keep the last game too long in our mind, we are very optimistic always about the next game, we are very focused, all of us, on the next game. We don't go for any excuses, we just believe in what we do, 100%, with me I mean me, the boys and the coaches.

"I have exceptional staff, us all together are a pretty good Premier League manager. All the departments we've brought really good people in so its not a coincidence that we're successful but it is still massive that we are that successful."

Jurgen Klopp talking to BBC sports editor Dan Roan about putting smiles on the fans' faces: "It means absolutely everything to me. It’s the only reason why we play football. This city is a very emotional city that went through a lot of hard times, like the club had to go through and having these good moments is essential. It makes me so happy that we could deliver that, that’s unbelievable. Having a successful football team in a city always lifts the mood in a city so it helps everything.

"At this moment in time, in the biggest crisis our generation has probably ever had, it’s so important that we don’t forget that there is something we can really look forward to, that we are allowed to look forward to. We want to have in the future our life as well because also nice in the past we want to have in the future. We can’t have it now, which is really exceptional thanks to everybody who was involved in making that happen.

"It means everything. I said it last year after the parade – I had eye contact with so many people and that is the most intense experience I’ve ever had in my life. It drains you out – it’s like wow. You see how much it means and that makes it absolutely special."

Jurgen Klopp talking to Dan Roan about being in the same category as legendary managers like Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Kenny Dalglish: "I don’t feel anything about it because I don’t see it that way. It’s not too important. But if people want to see it like this, I’m not the guy to tell them to stop doing that. But I don’t care.

"I don’t want to be disrespectful but they are really icons. What Bill and Bob did is just incredible and in very difficult times – people had nothing and they lifted and built this city.

"Kenny was player-manager – it’s unbelievable, I don’t think there is any story that can compare with that, just incredible. And still in the club – King Kenny!

"The Steven Gerrard generation fought so hard for it – won the Champions League, won different trophies, but not this one. All these things, since we use our history in the right manner, since we don’t compare any more, since we are just happy about it, build on it, since then we can do what we do now. It’s great. I’m really happy to be part of this."

And finally, Jurgen Klopp talking to BBC sports editor Dan Roan about building a dynasty and how confident he is Liverpool can do that: "Last year we had 97 points so we were really close – it’s not like it’s been up and down with us. Here’s the second year now where obviously we are pretty good.

"As long as we stay humble, everything is possible for us. As long as we are ready to still write the stories we want to tell our grandchildren in the future, we are a team who could play some good stuff and is really not a joy to play against. So that’s what we want to be. People look at the fixtures and think ‘ugh, wow, April – Liverpool’. Nobody wants to play them – that’s the plan. I think that’s possible.

"Being successful and if people judge us and that we finally win all the stuff, that’s really difficult because the other teams are too good for that. They have a good chance to improve of course as well – we have to be better, they have to, we will, they will and then we will see who is best.

"But in a moment like this I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to think about all this stuff. We are in a very good moment now and in a week's time we play against Manchester City and we have to show that we are still a good football team and that’s what we will try."
                  Oh I don't know.

What I love about him (one of many things) is that he made last night mandatory attendance for the entire squad.

He realised that perhaps some of the quieter individuals might have stayed away, maybe not believing 100% it was going to happen. He identified them, and knew by making it mandatory they would have to take part. He said he knew that if anyone were to choose to miss out they would regret it for the rest of their careers.

                      Leadership.

He identified that we are cynical and had a mental block as a club and s*** our pants each time we smelled a league win. We had started looking for signs to feed our inner doubts and somehow convinced ourselves it is not happening. Basically told us in a very nice and encouraging manner to overcome our doubts from the word go.

His first press conference was a masterclass in how he tried to lift an entire fan base, a global community. They will be analyzing that in seminars and leadership conferences 30-40 years from now.

And to retain that faith given all the finals loss and 97 points last year. Wow, just wow!!!!!

We played some amazing stuff initially but had a bit of a soft belly. Our team is like a ****in amazing boxer though that has got knocked down a few times and every time gets ****in up and fights. Won't ****in die.

We get to Europa League final in Basle and **** it up. Get back up again and qualify for the champions league the next season.

We get to the final in Kiev. **** it up and get to Madrid the next season and ****in win it.

We have something like the 3rd best season in English football history but still lose the league by a cunt hair, we ****in come back the next season and rewrite the ****in record books. Liverpool have gone close a few times over the last 30 years but after every close call then fell away. This team smiled at the knock and hit right ****in back 10 times. Our team is like Robert DeNiro when he talks about Joe Pesci in Casino....... If you come at him with a knife then he'll come back with a gun. And if you come at him with a gun, then you better ****in kill him.

It feels like this season not winning it in front of the fans will fuel next seasons effort.

Every **** up personnel wise, Klopp has been ruthless as well. With a smile on his face, he has rectified and got it 100 percent right. Moreno ****in cost us. Hello Milner at left back for a season before we get the best left back in the world for the cost of Kevin Stewart. Karius cost us, we go get the best goalie in the ****in world. Soft belly, we go and get the best centre back in the world. Remember some of us ****in clowns wanted Michael ****in Keane instead of waiting 6 months for Virgil

Thank you Coutinho too His stupidity enabled us to buy Virgil and Alisson and still have change left over.

This feels great. Its what we were all waiting for.

But guess what, how ****in awesome does it feel because it feels like the start of something even bigger We've all craved for one league title
****in Blackburn got one. ****in Leicester even ended up with one for **** sake. But this feels like we're about to dominate for a few years. This team aren't like a ****in Leicester or a Blackburn. Our rivals in football history could be AC Milan in the early 90s.....Barca under Pep.....the great Madrid and Ajax teams......United in the 90s with their crop of homegrown players..... Paisley's Liverpool. Enjoy the title celebrations lads.... But next year we ****in go again!!!
                                Love it
