Has to be pep. Bringing another guy in would be madness.

    It's surely all bollocks anyway

Let Pep take the reins until the end of the season. Be a way to judge what he could do. Or if Rafa is free and available, give him a four or five month stint as cover.

Of course it’s a no brainer, to do whatever necessary to keep him, but realistically don’t think he can take a break for a few months... would he just unplug and not watch the games?! Not be on the phone with pep every other day? The job is intense, ya have to be all in...
      I don't tip

Yeah, I just don't see that him taking time off is realistic, from his perspective, or from the club's.

Yeah, if you're gone, you're gone in football. Which is a shame as it would be ideal if we could offer him a short break.

It depends on how long a short break you are talking about, I'm sure managers have missed a game or two for personal reasons such as this and the assistant has managed the team for those games. In the current circumstances you could extent that a bit to say he has been quarantining to ensure none of the players or staff were exposed to anything that he might have picked up in his time away...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Thompson covering for Ged after Ged's heart issue springs to mind.

That could be enough to push him over the edge.

Not if we tell Jurgen that if he ever leaves the club that he gets that gimp to stay with him for life.

Oh the shame of that attention seeking sod being a Munster man

Think Nev and I are going to have to go find him and take him for a walk in the woods.

I was wanting to avoid that one as that was rather an extreme example I think he missed about 4 or 5 months, I was assuming the short term being discussed here was more a couple of weeks to a month.

Used that one to highlight how a longer break could be facilitated

It's a bit different when he'd been signed off work by a doctor. It's just not feasible without.

Every single one of us would take time off work if our mother's died and our employers wouldn't bat an eyelid giving it to us. It shouldn't be any different for a football manager.
