Klopp has to stay, but lessons need to be learnt. If I can moan about the midfield for the last two years, then the staff must have been sware of the decline too

If we lose against Everton I've a feeling he may go.

That end part makes it sound like hes going to bench half the team and play the reserves.

            Which would mean losing again.

We're rather good at it now to be fair.

I hope not and I don’t think so.

So long as the team doesn’t get relegated, he deserves another crack at it next season.

4 5 1 or 442 or 5 3 2. Get hard to beat. We're easy to score against and can't score either. It's relegation form right now.

Sad times. Becoming a laughing stock.
We did exactly that at the start of the season.

We went 451 and we went 442, Klopp stuck with it for a while, results kept going to **** then we sort of reverted to a 433 but not our old 433.

TBH though the formation itself is not as important as how we set up within it and also the players we have available for it.

I know earlier in the season I posted about playing three CBs, letting TAA and Roberston play as Wing backs, go with two CMs and three attackers but let the attackers be a wide left forward, striker and wide right forward rather then two wingers flanking the striker.

Problem now is we do not have enough quick CBs fit to play that nor do we have a proper fit Left wide forward available with both Diaz and Jota both being out so even if we did go 523 we would have to go with a few square pegs in round holes.

If there is truth to Jota and VVD being back in full training this coming week though, I would love to see that set up being used

                  ------------------------------Alisson------------------------------
                  -----------Matip--------------VVD--------------Gomez----------
                  TAA--------------------------------------------------------Robertson
                  -------------------Bajcetic------------Thiago------------------------
                  --------Salah--------------------------------------------Jota---------
                  -----------------------------Darwin----------------------------------

Drop Konate into the CB trio once he is back fit.

TAA being caught out of position would/should be negated a little bit as the CBs could push across and Robertson coming back would make it a flat back four.

When attacking we would have one or both wing banks pushing on to join the three forwards and maybe Thiago taking an adavnced midfield postion to recycle the ball if needed. If there is a quick break we still have three CBs and Bajcetic there to avoid being overloaded.

Probably a set up that would not score a crazy amount of goals but could be one that does not leak a lot either. Not conceding on a regular basis would give us a base to build upon.

The Red Bull teams often went with a similar set up to that in recent years and it was one that allowed them to dispatch the chaff in their respective years.

Tuchel is another guy that used it at times and got some of his better results using it.

Would not see it as a long term set up for us, but once a few polayers are back it might be something that could help rebuild confidence and start clawing three points on a more regular basis.

This is similar to how I think we should go. Both fullbacks are better attacking than defending. Would give us a more solid base. It's got to be worth trying.

Yeah at the very least it would make us harder to beat and play against which at the moment would be nice.

Should make us less of a liability out wide, but it does require us to have 3 fit CBs which given our recent history might be a challenge.

I like that sentiment, but we can’t do that. We can get rid of a few, subject to viable offers, but by and large, this is the squad that needs to start winning game after game this season, or worst case next. Nothing else will keep Klopp here.
