Because we’ve backed ourselves into a corner where we need to spend an absolute fortune to compete again and we can’t. Being good is a lot harder for us, and he’s frustrated by that, understandably. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t also contributed to our own downfall.Originally posted by Bender View PostSo why is Klopp moaning about other richer clubs then?Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Illustrating that we have been punching above our weight based on transfer spend and highlighting that we can't continue to do so, so attempting to manage expectationsThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The biggest mistake going into the season was not buying a MF. Melo is a crock, and Juve are probably rubbing their hands at getting rid of an injury prone crab.
If there is one criticism of Klopp is his loyalty to players at the detriment of the club. Its not all his fault, Edwards shoulders some of the blame. Allowing players to play down their contracts so they walk free has cost the club nearly £100m.

we brought in two first-teamer forwards, it's not like we sat on our asses. that's what you'd expect from us. 2-3 solid match starters and maybe a punt or two. that's our MO.
we also went after 5 different midfielders during that time and came up empty-handed.
imho we started the rebuild there because spurs forced our hand, and that was who was available. it's obvious that midfielders are required and will be coming into the side whether that's january or in the summer. it'll happen. it takes time. our whole spine peaked at the same time and it takes time to free up space for new blood and bring it in. it hasn't worked out yet, i'm sure they were just hoping this midfield would carry us just a little further but i imagine they expected this season to be subpar after all the matches we played last year.
that's fine, i'll take one of those every 2-3 years and a year of recovery if that's what it takes
