no complaints - we're desperate for a centre half, I don't think we have the money to go and splash in January plus not much available without paying over the odds. If he comes in on loan, gives us the required cover for a few games whilst we wait for sakho/skrtel/lovren to get fit then sound

A couple of positives is that he's good in the air so should help defend and attack (if he get decent delivery) set pieces + he is eligible for Europe I believe. As many have said he is another experienced, uninjured body to fill in. We obviously couldn't get Matip now so he works as a stop gap. I think I read Howedes was injured at Schalke.

It suits us and him because if he gets games and does well it puts him in the minds of other clubs for a future move.

Oh and he is Premiership proven with great character

He's been at Southampton. I've seen him play a couple of times this season, including when we battered them.

No idea how much he's played overall though

I remember when he broke through at Spurs and thought he looked decent at the time.

Deffo would have been a signing I would have gone for , just goes to show I don't know anything about footballers as he has been pretty average since.

Reckon we're only signing him for the next few weeks - first sign of trouble and he'll get chinned in front of the Kop and sent packing to give our permenant staff a bit of a warning.
