Maybe they feel they've achieved enough in their respective careers and know that they'll be trading success for money from this point on. To us mere mortals, and fans, we'd play for 10k a week throughout our careers but they're bred a different way

Maybe because there is so much more to the world than England and Liverpool? He's won everything that can be won at club level here, he might want a new challenge and see a different culture possibly.

Money, of course can be an option, but I would say it's fair, as he didn't necessarily grow up rich.

He's given us 6 years, I'd wish him well. Club legend forever.

I dont think 250k for a 30 year old who relies a lot on acceleration is a good deal for LFC. We still have to rely on income to pay for wages and transfer fees. We would be better off finding the next Mane if thats what it will cost. It might be different if his pace didnt contribute a sizable part of his game.

I think reading into it is that it would be his preferred option to leave, but he’d stay if the club can’t agree a deal for him to leave now. If the latter he’d leave for free at the end of his term.

What is tricky for the club is that we could have an exodus at the end of next year with Salah, Bobby and him leaving at the same time, and also terms for Keita and a few others terminating at roughly the same period, so it would be a full on rebuilding process.

Maybe with both Sadio and Mo we are patient because we think our negotiating position might be better next year? All the focus is on how it's their last chance for a big payday this summer, but on the other side if we make them stay to the end of their contracts then how many clubs would want to pay top whack next summer for 31 year old strikers who rely on pace and then make them the focal point of their attack? All of a sudden our offer might be up there with what other teams will offer them?

Either way, if they leave it should be on good terms after what they've given us. I'd trust us to replace them these days though. No need to panic.

They are so used to getting what they want, hoovering up all the Bundas talent that maybe this **** works there. Surely there are more clubs in the mix for him. He's clearly leaving us anyways that is for sure and we will ultimately get the fee we want, in saying that someone is going to get an absolute bargain.
