I can see Mane playing top level for another 5 or 6 years, injury permitting. The guy is a machine.
But if he no longer wants to be part of the best club in the world then let’s thank him for his contribution, which has been massive, and get his replacement.

I think he might just want a few handy trophies and a bag of cash while he gets older - he'll get that at PSG or Bayern. I'd be looking at the Hazard money Chelsea got as my starting - it was almost €100m, similar age and 1 year left on the contract. I think we'd take €50/€60m and I think the club have replaced him with Diaz and Carvalho to back him up.Originally posted by Rich View PostI can see Mane playing top level for another 5 or 6 years, injury permitting. Mane has been playing centrally so that is where we need to replace him - he has been doing great scoring goals but his link up play is what let's him down from time to time. He struggled centrally on Sat and Bobby made such a difference when he came on + Mane looked much letter out left.
We've had his best years and if we can get a decent fee for him I'm sure the club will replace him well. He is such a good guy and his work rate and determination aligned with the goals means they'll need to work their magic again..... I think he is hugely under rated by opposition fans.

I did think that we've already replaced him with Diaz and Carvalho - Diaz was supposed to be this summer, but we had to go early because of Spurs. Same with Thiago replacing Gini early. Not sure we will go all out for a Mane replacement as such - priority is maybe for more of a DM to backup/alternate with Fabinho.
Div and Mane going does leave us short up top but with Bobby, Mo, Luis and Diogo it's maybe a squad type replacement rather than straight into the first eleven player... The likes of Bowen would be decent as he's young and the current front line still gives him time to bed in and settle without the pressure of performing from day one.

Well they are in a similar position with Lewandowski, he has a year left on his contract and looks like he could be moving this summer, they can't say Mane's worth sod all while telling other clubs Lewandowski will demand a high fee.
I can already see this going to the end of the transfer window or beyond to be honestThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

i'd be happy enough to wish anyone in our front line aside from diaz well tbh. they aren't getting any younger, and the team needs freshening up at some point. would like to give klopp 4 years with a project he can build and get his teeth into rather than leave the team needing major surgery when he goes.
as someone said, i trust the club to replace basically anybody. most of our players were above average when they came to us and either improved or fit into a system that got the most out of them while they were here. i think we can do that again. mane, bobby, mo--all free to go with my thanks as far as i'm concerned. terrific servants of this club, but that day comes for everyone.dave of mutilation

Of our front three, I would most like to keep mane, then salah (or sell and use the money to rebuild), then firmino (an irreplaceable song).Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posti'd be happy enough to wish anyone in our front line aside from diaz well tbh. they aren't getting any younger, and the team needs freshening up at some point. would like to give klopp 4 years with a project he can build and get his teeth into rather than leave the team needing major surgery when he goes.
