What a player he turned out to be. Modern day legend.

Hope he's a success at Bayern (except when they play us)

Good luck Sadio, thanks for the memories! Some of the best memories I've had of watching this team with him in it, will be sad to see him go.

Given his injury record, that means approx £32m

Seems cheap for the 5th highest goalscorer in the prem; but like others I bear him no ill will

We got him cheap, he was amazing for us, and now he fancies playing somewhere else

            All the best Sadio
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Farewell Sadio, thanks for the goals.
For me it’s the one against Arsenal not long after he signed. Cuts in from the right, breezes past two or three defenders and smashed it top corner with his left foot.

He’s still incredibly quick but when he first joined his pace was insane.

Sad to see him go, so many great goals but he’s earned his right as a legend. One of the finest wingers to ever play for the club.

Bayern represents a solid move for him and will be based on a footballing challenge, not money.

However, I'm still a bit annoyed by his 'Liverpool fans will be excited' comment. He knew he was going probably when he said it and I don't reckon there's a single Red who's excited about this at all

Don’t be annoyed, he never said that

He answered a journalist asking about his future with something like ‘Ask me after the final, I will give you the best answer you want to hear’.

Bit the person asking him wasn’t connected to Liverpool.

Getting pretty much the same amount we paid for him after 6 years, tons of goals and all of the trophies he could possibly win. That is a decent deal. The evolution is well under way now, and though Sadio finished this season strong since Christmas for the 18 months prior to that he was indifferent, particularly during lockdown where he played like his boots were on the wrong feet.

He leaves us as a legend and I’m glad he isn’t moving elsewhere within the prem.

I also think the club is “looking after” a loyal guy based on all of what you said above.

Do we blame the club for not giving a new contract to someone who said he did not wish to disuss one?

Don't think there is much blame to go around in this one at all.

Mane has been a model pro for us and if he wants a new challenge with a huge payrise and can get it by etting his out his contract run down to reduce the transfer fee, then that is his call.

If the club knows that is what he is going to do and decide to let him do so and not try to force a transfer onto him earlier duer to having got good service from him ( and having his replacement brought in) then fair enough.

We are most likely going to have the same sort of thing with Salah next summer (minus the incoming transfer fee) though maybe an arguement could be made that we have, like we did with Mane, brought in Salah's relacement early too in Nunez. Not in a positional sense but maybe we see Nunez as the man to replace Salah's goals and Nunez gets a seasn to settle with Salah still here.
I’d not heard anything about him refusing to discuss his contract last season & I doubt we’ll ever know the whole truth but he’s made his decision for whatever reason & I’ll wish him all the best with it.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
