Yep. Even last season he was really coming into his own about this time. Especially in Europe.

He started well last year too.

That red card really affected his form.

I think he can be very wayward with some of his chances, more so than maybe Salah and Firmino, which I think gives him the appearance of a more selfish or wasteful player, which I think is unfair. I think his directness and pace means he has less time to make a decision.

As many have said, would be our Player of the Season if not for Van Dijk. Seems odd we can all get such a massive hard-on for a defender... but that is indeed where we are.

Completely different circumstances. Granted, the contract will mean precious little if there is a willingness from Madrid and Mane to make the deal happen, but I just can't see that being the case. What it should safeguard against is agents or outside parties getting into Mane's head and try to use the interest from Madrid (genuine or not) to further there own interests if he had less than 2 years on his current deal.

I've no idea what the circumstances are, just saying that a recent new contract doesn't draw a line under anything if Madrid and Mane's interest were to be mutual.

We shouldn't be losing any players now, no excuses. We have the money, the ability to challenge etc. If nothing clubs like Everton keep Gueye from PSG, Spurs their manager from Real etc etc then I'm not accepting any reasons for us selling anyone now.

It seems Hazard is a dead cert for Madrid and they probably think they can supplement that with signing Mane for £80m. They would be wrong as Mane would cost £160m so they would be looking at spending nearly £300m on two players. So in that sense, I am calm about this one too.

There is nothing concrete in the rumours but his name keeps coming up in Zidane's 'list' and he was also very good against them in the final
