They are both good and have the potential to be our main offensive midfielders. They both seem to favour the right hand side, but maybe they can develop both to be able to cover either side.

But Mane's overall performances have been trending down ever since we won the league. He still gives his all and runs teams ragged, but his skill level when its not an instinctive movement has become incredibly poor IMO. His pace is on the wane too. He rarely takes anyone on anymore, like he used to.

But you don't though and thats why I say confirmation bias. He's had plenty of good games this season but you don't see it. You just see the poor touch/pass etc even when he's scored two goals.

His touch was absolutely shocking all game last night. He looked like he'd been on the bongs before the game. Falling over, running into people, passing it straight to Arsenal players.....then bang he suddenly comes alive and jags a goal and then had his trademark 'Mane touch' where he needs to put the afterburners on to catch up and dinks a little assist over for Mo.

I think Mane has always blown hot and cold.

I think that is what sets him apart from the likes of Salah, who does not really go through c ouple of dry spells each season.

I do worry that his main asset is probably pace and acceleration, getting older. But I think we have a perfect set of options to bring in if and when his form dips. Same with Firmino really. Jota and Diaz are potent options. And we still have Origi for vital European ties, and Minamino who can bang away a few cup goals.

I am not sure about another contract for Mane, but that comes down to resources. Id rather whack a chunk of it on Salah, than be handing out contracts to Milner etc (as much as I love Millie).Salah is the best player in the world, though.

Mane is hitting a bit of form, so I expect he will start, hopefully alongside Jota and Salah. Diaz will have to wait for his turn despite having played pretty well. i dont think he has quite gelled yet.

This is the thing with Mane though, he presses defences like a devil and tracks back all the time. I think his overall attacking performance has been a bit down over the last couple of years, and I've called him out on it, but the rest of his play in the team in terms of press and defence is impeccable. When you put that together with goals scored and assists he's a true Klopp player. Incredible player.

I agree with that & I know you’re not replying to me but my comment simply means I don’t like him playing in the middle. Bobby & even Jota are best suited in the middle of the 3 compared to Sadio IMO, which is not meant to put him down.

Ive never slagged off his work ethic, or his relentless pressure on defenders. He's a beast in that regard, no doubt.

What Mane does that really bugs me is he brings the ball to a dead stop and does a little feint left and right, but he isnt fooling anyone! All the time we have lost our impetus and advantage of quick movement and runners end up wasting themselves for nothing.
Curtis jones and henderson are also very prone to this.

Do what you want, but coming into threads when he's scored.. Specifically to counter any praise and slag him, and being invisible generally when he plays well ain't the best look.

Mane was the first klopp signing that took us to a different level, and he's been on this journey all the way. No Mane, no titles. Deserves better I think.
