The thing is we know he’ll do “good” with that extra money, he’s already very generous and died so much in his local community where he grew upOriginally posted by Rich View Post£650k a week. Have a **** year and double your money!
It seemed a bad fit at Bayern to replace Lewandowski and so it turned out

Very much so. He is a player that whilst earning loads more money for himself, a massive chunk of what he earns will go towards helping build new infrastruture for the village/town he grew up in and also towards the find he has in place so that community has funding for decades after he retires.
It is also different, imo of course, when a muslim player decides to go play in the middle east.
I appreciate there are different types of Islam just as there are of Christian, but a devout muslim player joining a league in a predominantly muslim country may have other reasons for joining the league on top of the big money on offer.
Would suggest that the proximity to Mecca would also play a part for those whose faith is a big part of their lives.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Let's be honest, he signed because of the money like every other player that goes thereOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostVery much so. I wonder if Henderson is planning on using his extra dosh to regenerate Sunderland, build some schools and introduce clean running waterOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostThe thing is we know he’ll do “good” with that extra money, he’s already very generous and died so much in his local community where he grew up

Yes of course he did, but think it is still different for a muslim player moving to a league in a muslim country.
Plus for the likes of Mane who comes across as being pretty devout in his faith, the proxmity to Mecca will be a factor imo that simply does not exist for the non muslim players there.
And the fact he is constantly funding things in his home town and has that fund so the town is looked after after he retires means that him moving for extra money is not something driven only by personal gain.
