Who here as manager would drop one of Salah, Mane, Firmino or now Jota so Gini could play a more shackleless game? Not me. Not because we desperately need Gini in a defensive role as we have Fab and Hendo, but simply because Gini's attacking stats are poor in relation to our world class attackers. This includes ball rotation, speed to run past players, vision, etc, not to mention goals versus shots. His international form is irrelevant (aka the Poborsky Conundrum).

I don't blame him if he wants to move so he can try that part of the game out. I probably would too. It just won't happen with us.

I'm not really sure he does get that many chances, most of the time he's probably gets one a game not usually a great one either. That's how it feels to me.

It's more the position than the chances. He usually played as an attacking midfielder or in the Mane position before he came here. There was even an interview a while ago saying that he wasn't sure if he could play in this midfield position anymore as he hadn't played it in many years.

Totally see the Seedorf comparisons. Although Clarence could hit the ****ing cover off the thing. Gini's strikes are a bit tame in comparison

Thought he had a mixed game - he lost possession deep in our own half which nearly cost us a goal early on. He then got sucked out wide allowing De Bruyne tons of time and space to provide the assist for their equaliser.

Second half the whole team was poor, stopped closing down and didn’t get many second balls. We should have switched to a three man midfield - I can understand why Klopp started with 4 upfront, it stopped city blitzing us early on which is what they like to do to teams. We really missed not having Fabinho/Thiago or a fit Keita to provide some control in the midfield which is a real shame as City were absolute wank and were totally there for the taking.

Even though he's 30 this week, I can see him playing deep into his 30's and like Seedorf, arguably get better with age.

He had a great game. His ability to chase down people as well as taking balls under extreme pressure is amazing.

I'd hate for us to lose him.
