    Trent Alexander-Arnold

    He's 18.

He must have been nervous as hell before that. What a fixture to get your first PL start in.

And though he got caught out a few times, he did a pretty solid job. He's a rough diamond, but I think he's got a future at the club. If he can continue to get some game time, learn the position a bit more then I think he can be solid back up for Clyne.

    Modifying post.

All things considered I thought he did well. In fact, I think he'll make it and become a regular in the fullness of time.

He got caught out a few times but mainly at the beginning of the game. Dealt with anything after that and second half was very solid. He looks an outstanding prospect.
      Are we winning?

Is his prefered position RB, I thought I read somewhere that he was a midfielder who could play right back.

He looked shakey early on but improved alot as the game went on, we need cover for Clyne (hopefully only the odd game) but it would be get him some experience.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He had a rough intro, but was assisted very well on a number of occasions by Lovren and/or Gini..........could only point to a couple of occasions as the game went on, and you could argue that he was on the pitch at the end, whereas the lad who was instructed to run him off the park was sat on the bench after an hour.
          OK overall.

Tough day for the young lad. He was clearly being targeted. Thought he improve in the second half though.

That must have been a massive high-5 to his confidence - to see a £56m (cost, not value!) attacker being subbed off.

Fair ****s to Trent. And fair ****s to Klopp as well for putting him in. I would have thought that the option of putting Milner right back and Moreno left back would have been considered as well.

By the way, is he the lad who Gerrard tipped to become a regular for us?

Waaaaay to early to know whether he'll make it.
                Oh I don't know.

Baptism of fire or what for a first PL start and he struggled a bit at the start but there was also a change in formation where he wasn't going to be afforded the same cover as we usually have there. Overall he did bloody well for us.

Not sure where this leaves Moreno when the moving of Milner to RB and starting him at LB would have been the easier more conventional decision

I thought TAA did ok he grew into the game

He still gets a little caught positional wise but hes young he can hopefully learn that

Martial gave him a bit of a roasting in the first half, especially the first 30 mins but he improved as the game went on. I did think all our defenders looked a bit panicked for the first 20 mins anyways which wouldn't have helped Arnold. Some game to come into for the young lad, immense pressure.

He did better against Utd than he did against Plymouth, considering the expectations from both games. I can see him starting against Plymouth again and hopefully put in some good crosses for Sturridge to finish.

I thought he had a good game, all things considered.

He'll never be as good as Tom Davies though, who's by far and away the best young talent this country has ever produced.
