Surely the reason that people are thinking that Keita isn't making it is due to the way he's been since he arrived. You can see there have been questions raised way before the Villa game in this thread, it's not hard to find.

And while we're at it Keita is hardly getting pelters, the general view expressed is that he just not good enough, and certainly hasn't performed as we expected him to. No-one has called him **** have they?

It’s not hard to find the criticism against Gini and Hendo as well. How did that turn out?

The issue I’m having is why him? Why not lump everything into a bad team performance instead, which actually was the case. Also, expecting a player to play the same way he used to play in a different team and a different system is a bit far fetched.
              Are we winning?

As to your first point, again, it's not just about the Villa performance, he has consistently failed to hit the level we expect in our midfield.

I'm not asking him to play the way he played before. I'm asking him to be a decent performer in our midfield. I'm not seeing it, and it's not like he hasn't had enough time. It's a perfectly legitimate question to ask.

Naby Keita is yet to make a tackle in 4 appearances this season
Ouch that doesn't read well. I thought that was a big part of his game? He's definitely going to be the one that gets dropped first when Henderson and Thiago are back fit.

                          Fake news

It is bull**** how many fake stats there are out there which we all take as truthful.

Opta have a metric for Interceptions. But also for Ball Recovery and Blocked Pass.

So it might be true for Interceptions. But the others might have been making up for it.

I run a Draft Style Fantasy league, where all this tiny detail is the difference between a team winning and losing. So I had to get familiar with it, so the other teams in the league stopped crying about something not counting.

Yeah, after 2 seasons of relentless W’s, there’s bound to be a drop off some time. And this season is all the more tricky with it’s packed schedule and Covid problems.
