No that I dont think he'll deserve it at some stage, but something bugged me hearing the fans belting out a song with his name yet they've never done it for Sturridge. Hearing your name being sung gives you a huge amount of confidence and drive and an urge to play for them. Just wonder if anything would be different if he had been given one. Hell after that season he deserved it.

Don’t think a song would have mended all those injuries mate

Maybe if he bulks up a bit and learns some tricks from Wijnaldum and Salah on retaining the ball!
Thought he struggled a wee bit with the physicality of the game, got barged a few times and always wanted an extra second on the ball, that said you can see glimpses shining thru
I make no apologies, this is me

Definitely not the injuries. But maybe his drive. I mean you've got to feel for him. He came in and for a couple seasons he was smashing them in. Then he got some really unlucky accidents. Wasnt his fault. But what he gave us for some reason wasnt enough for a song. I know it would depress me for sure.

Really stepped it up trying to get this move to Bayern.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Was excellent first half and his "calm down" moment to the team in the second half was much needed (and it worked!)

He’s a god. Absolutely mental how many times he wins the ball back, that first goal summed up his qualities.

He seems to win the ball back very high up the pitch by doing not a lot. Just the right place at the right time 'I'll have that, thank you' and off he skips with the ball

Loving his growing confidence, Gini was a bit lost as number 6 when we had the ball so Keita swapped with him a few times, and pushed Gini to his position and he sat in and controlled the game

Really growing into the squad and playing a proper part.

He really is isn’t he. The better players all seem to trust him now & his confidence because of that has peaked. And there’s still a lot to come I feel.

I think it goes to show that we need to give new players time, some hit the ground running others take time to settle, it wasn't long ago that people we speculating that we could/should get rid of him this summer. But he now seems to be settling in and is starting to look like the player we thought we were getting.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He was easily man of the match yesterday, this was the Leipzig Naby and I can't wait to see him for the final few games and the rest of the season.

Our players should go on to have superb African Cup of Nations campaigns too!
