We aren’t going to agree here.
Look at the clip. He goes outside of his foot to the exact area (well his intention is) where the keeper is leaning towards as well as where the majority of defenders are.
He has. So. Much. Time.
Anyway it’s done now. You’re wrong I’m right, let’s move on

Just imagine Robbo in the same position - what would he have doneWe aren’t going to agree here.

It’s all ****ing moot anyway - peak Stevie G wasn’t scoring vs go go gadget Courtois - it was written in the stars this one….Comment

What I know is that he made an absolute cunt of it.Miss? He was outside the box FFS with the entire Madrid defence in the way of the goals + a keeper who has the longest limbs on planet earth. He tried to hit it with some swerve and ****ed it up, it happens. If he hit it dead straight it would've been saved/blocked. Guaranteed.
Robbo skies shots every single game into row Z and nobody bats an eyelid, ditto our captain and the worlds best rightback.
We, as a team, are absolutely awful at shooting from distance. Ive been saying it for years.Last edited by danperkins; 30-05-22, 03:19 PM.Comment

Anyway, putting ‘that shot’ to one side, Keita is not getting into any other top four side in PL, or any potential CL winning team if he leaves us. He came as the missing piece of the jigsaw on high wages but has now settled into a squad role competing for time with Curtis Jones, and maybe Elliott next year. With his contract up in 2023, he’s unlikely to be content to keep that role, so do we sell now and get a fee or let him leave next summer for free? I’ve no issues with him staying as a squaddie but reckon he has issues with it, so he needs to be moved on now.Last edited by Kenneth; 30-05-22, 04:19 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 yearsComment

Yeah, I'm pretty meh about him now. He is decent enough as a squady but feels like we are still waiting for his breakthrough season where he really starts to dominate in midfield (by providing more assists and goals) we keep on waiting but not seeing it.Modifying post.Comment

We largely alternated between Keita and Thiago this season, to manage each of their minutes. Keita is well ahead of Curtis in the pecking order, just looking at the games they started tells us that.Anyway, putting ‘that shot’ to one side, Keita is not getting into any other top four side in PL, or any potential CL winning team if he leaves us. I agree he is, and maybe rotates with Hendo too, but you’ve got to hope the youngens push on and provide that competition next season, and then there’s the prospect of us adding to the midfield. If he looked like he was going to make the position his own, or that Klopp really trusted him, then we should be renewing asap, but I’m not sure he’s going to do that, and there were already rumbles in the press about him not renewing with guarantees of more game time.We largely alternated between Keita and Thiago this season, to manage each of their minutes.
