Look at the starting XI's when we have drawn and concede 2 plus goals and I think Jones has started in each. He is a great player with loads of potential, but I am not sure he is disciplined enough for us yet.

There were a few Salah-esque moments last night when he got closed down by 2 or 3 players and conjured some magic to get away from them

I'm not sure we, or he, know what type of midfielder he is really and that sometimes shows. He doesn't have the electric pace to play as a winger, the guile to play as an attacking midfielder or the strength to play as a CM

But that was definitely one of the best games I've ever seen him play for us, so whatever that was, that's it
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I’m not sure two games in 4-5 days is the way to go with Ox at this stage & we should ease Thiago back gently as well so needs must maybe ?

Him & Timmy complimented each other at times too. There seemed to be a good understanding between the two of them.

And with very good reason based on his output and availabilty for a number of years now.

Does not change the fact that he was excellent last night though. As you say he needs to crack on from last night, stay fit and put in a run of good perfromances and not let last night be a once in a blue moon performance.

My own take is that injuries or lack of form will raise their heads for him again though I would be delighted to be proven badly wrong on that as he seems a really decent guy off the pitch and if he could perform like last night on a regular basis he would save us a lot of money in the transfer market

He reckons he's the second fastest in the squad after Mo...

When the squad sprinting speeds get published Mo tends to not make the top three. Most of the time Gomez comes out top when those figures come out. TAA, VVD and Roberston all fare well too.

Think what Mo has is very good acceleration (along with a pretty decent top sprint speed) that makes him seem faster than he is at times.

Yep - it probably coincides with the fact that he has played a lot of minutes in the last few games. It allows him get into rhythm

Totally agree with that on rhythm (and therefore confidence) he played well when he came on in the first leg also. He seems to be more relaxed and making smarter and less rushed decisions when he is on the ball. His quality on the ball is very high.

I think we'd all like to see him to well, and get back to the form he showed before getting injured against Roma. Last night was a good performance but let's bare in mind that we were playing against 10 men for half of the time he was on which will have had an impact on his performance. I think ability wise he still has it the question is about his fitness and injury record he has only started about 25 games in the last 3 and a bit seasons and I doubt he has finished many of them. I like he but I don't think we can rely on him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Are they from a game though? I think CBs often make up the top sprint speeds because they tend to run furthest sprinting back into more space in teams that dominate the game.

No idea but I think he said it from some video and I'd assume they'd time it in training during some activities

I've always thought Ox was quite nippy when he needed to be (see our counter-attack goals, he is always there with Mo/Sadio)? He's hardly Captain Slow.

That's where I thought the sprint times came from though there are probably in game max speed times out there too.

Safe to say though that our back line and forward line are not short of fast players. It's in the middle where we have a bit less explosive pace.

Apparently Hendo is rapid also, that was touched upon in one of the player vlog things they do.
