I'd say it's a huge positive because we can cite those players when attracting those that want to be the best.

What better place to do it than Liverpool because -

Alonso, Torres, Mascherano, Suarez, Coutinho, Salah, Robertson, TAA, Suso etc.

None have CL clauses. AFAIK they were all non conditional fees. Salah doesn't have one either.

Coutinho's fee was a but unique as they couldn't get to what we wanted. Only 9m of 142 is based on CL. 105 up front and the rest in apps.

I wouldn't complain though if clubs had enough confidence in us winning the CL to ask for more money when we win it. though.

If we win the CL we'd probably owe most of the winning to Southampton in add ons for various players, VVD, Mane, Lovren, Lallana, Clyne

Well, 9m if they did a double but yeah. A hat trick from us and we won't be giving a **** about Coutinho change.

I'd rather we win 3 times in a row than £4.5m

Yeah, he's been world class for a year or so now. Good to see him notching up those appearances though. Needs to get to 100apps to get £133m for him (we also get another 4.5m each if they win the CL in the next two years).

Scored an absolute stunner. Would've loved to have him in our team on the weekend.

Wonder how much money he would give to play just one minute in a champions league final?

No guarantees Barca are getting there any time soon with an even further ageing Messi. They didn't this season against one of the poorest semi finalists.
