I think they'll be lucky to get 10 league starts out of him and unlikely to get a full 90 minutes.

I think he’ll be fine. Gerrard knows what he’s good at and will make him the creative fulcrum of the team, definitely a step in the right direction for Stevie at Villa imo.

I don't think he will do well and that hewill turn out to be an expensive loan deal (Barca saying that Villa are paying 65% of his 300k weekly wage), but will be hoping I am wrong and that he scores winning goals against both Manc teams, Everton, Leeds and Newcastle along with being as **** against us as he was when he came to Anfield with Barca.
Would have added Chelsea to his to do list but Villa have already played them twice in the league.

Anyone see Stevies interview yesterday, he was trying to act like he'd give nothing away on the potential transfer but in doing so basically gave it away

From the bbc gossip...
Newcastle United's new Saudi owners plan to look to Germany in an attempt to mirror the success of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel in England. Chelsea's Germany striker Timo Werner, 25, is a top target, along with Bayern Munich and Germany centre-back Niklas Sule, 26, Barcelona's Brazilian midfield flop Philippe Coutinho, 29. I had that Bayern game on last week. I was wondering why Koeman was playing Frenkie de Jong up front. I wasn't really paying attention so i just assumed that it was a result of them thin with injuries.
It was only when Chris Sutton said they were something or other because they're playing a carthorse up front. I thought that was a bit harsh on a gifted youngster playing out of position. It was only when i paid attention that i realised they signed a Newcastle reject.
I did think Frenkie had put a bit of weight on tbf.
Koeman said it'd be a few years before they are competing financially again... i think it'll be much longer than that!
