I’m not on Twitter anymore so am not following all the transfer goss but as I understand it, some bull**** Saudi outfit have offered us £40m for him, and he’s been left out of the trip to Germany while the deal is finalised. Is that now factual, or totally wild Twitter BS, or somewhere in between?

Looks to be on the money. He's not gone to Germany with the rest of the lads.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI’m not on Twitter anymore so am not following all the transfer goss but as I understand it, some bull**** Saudi outfit have offered us £40m for him, and he’s been left out of the trip to Germany while the deal is finalised. Genuine. The usual LFC journos have all reported it too.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI’m not on Twitter anymore so am not following all the transfer goss but as I understand it, some bull**** Saudi outfit have offered us £40m for him, and he’s been left out of the trip to Germany while the deal is finalised. Ta. He’s 30 in October, which is a bit of a surprise, I thought he was a year or two older. He’s certainly looked like he’s got more miles in his legs over the last year, tackles have got lazier and more reckless. Best DM in the world at his peak, but his peak has passed. People seemed happy with £25 on the previous page so £40m is a bonus. Onwards and upwards for us hopefully.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostGenuine. Yep, he’s already had the career of a 33 year old in terms of minutes played.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostTa. We’ve been guilty of overplaying him and it shows. He did look better towards the end of last season, but for £40m the timing is probably right..

Not that arsed about Henderson leaving, but letting Fabinho goes does feel like a mistake.
If it was mega money I'd understand it, but we'll struggle to replace his class for £40m IMO. I believe he suffered from being overplayed so if we'd kept him but given him proper competition I think we could have had another 2/3 years of good performances out of him.
Shame. There is obviously the chance that he is set on the move and that's forced our hand of course.

Another way to look at it, if he moves, is that we got his best years, lots of great performances in those five years and now are getting our money back on him.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

exactly the way I'm looking at it. I'm actually excited to see them go and new blood to come in. Although if it's Kalvin Philips then I may have to change my mind
