I dunno... I think if he continued to develop he would have been a perfect backup to Trent. Maybe he wanted more games though. I doubt Ramsay will be at a higher level right now (happy to be wrong, though). Good price though.Originally posted by Rich View PostA good deal for all. I reckon Ramsey is a better match for what we need as a Trent back right now. I also think Neco probably has had a taste of first team football and doesn't want to be a back up who only plays the odd cup game.Originally posted by Charly View PostI dunno... Is that true though?Originally posted by Pablo View PostI reckon Ramsey is a better match for what we need as a Trent back right now. I also think Neco probably has had a taste of first team football and doesn't want to be a back up who only plays the odd cup game.
In tried following Neco while at Fulham, and his style was very similar to Trent. Many Fulham fans commented on this.
I know there is a 3 year age gap, and I have not seen Ramsay play. But on Paper I would have thought Neco was a very good match match in terms of style, and has certainly upped his level. The 1st division is not the PL, but he was tearing it up.
My biggest worry is that if he is not ready for the PL then we are forced to keep aying Trent when he needs a rest or put Gomez in there and lose most of our threat from the right.
As I said, I hope I am wrong, but I am skeptical an 18 year old can come in and do a good job in the most physically and mentally demanding position in the team.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Isn't that what Trent did when he was 17/18?Originally posted by Charly View PostIs that true though?

It's hard to know how any player will adapt, especially one so young. I would imagine that's why we have Gomez signed up again, to provide that back up and let the young lad bed in. It's not ideal having Gomez at RB but hopefully his attacking game is being worked on in training. Neco was shocking defensively in fairness so I would imagine we've seen things in Ramsey that Neco doesn't have. I know nothing about Ramsey to be honest.Originally posted by Charly View PostIs that true though?

I think that's the point though, he's closer but won't get many games so for him it's time to move on. Same may happen to RamsAy in 3 years if he progresses and Trent is still a beastOriginally posted by Charly View PostIs that true though?
