Not sure if I’d mentioned this before but I’d noticed that Neco plays LM for Wales & if we’re not going all out for Bellingham this summer , or signing any other midfielder for that matter, would we not be better off keeping Neco to cover midfield & RB if it’s only £12-15m that we’ll get if we sell him now? I think the lads got potential & we can do with an extra body in midfield for the cups etc & he’s only costing us peanuts in wages.

I agree at this stage we don’t really need him as cover for full back but our midfield isn’t exactly known for staying injury free for long & I think for the paltry amount we’d get for him it’d be better keeping him for this season until we can sign Bellingham. Not everyone will agree though

I disagree. I think he might be at a much higher level than Ramsay will be coming in as an 18 year old playing in the Scottish league.

TAA needs some decent backup to allow him to take the odd breather. Maybe I am wrong and Ramsay will be good enough to cover Premier League games, but from what I have seen from Neco, he has made a big step up from a couple of years ago and maybe the exact level we need for backup until Ramsay establishes himself.

Neco Williams wants to leave to play regularly, which is fair enough. Given we have Ramsay, Gomez and a couple of others who could fill in in an emergency, for the number of games you would expect him to play there doesn't seem to be a point in keeping him.

My point was that he plays in MIDFIELD for Wales & we could use another midfielder short term until we hopefully sign Bellingham. I understand that he wants regular matches which is why he probably won’t stay but he is under contract after all.
