That was great, but there are two takeaways. Kante was dejected at losing the ball. There was a lot of that from Chelsea players, we must be an absolute nightmare to play against when we're on it.

He was a sensational defender for Germany, up there with the likes of peak Baresi / Maldini. As shown he was equally adept at CB and RB. The little time he gave us did not disappoint, he was still sensational. What happened to him is probably up there with one of my saddest memories of being a Pool fan.

He had one full season (the treble season) where he was absolutely outstanding, IIRC his illness came not long into his second season and he barely played for us after that, it's remarkable that he was able to play again after what he went through, it was a really awful situation for him

didn't realise how good he is. he's ****ing top top quality. I love the way his first touch he always seems to roll his foot over the ball using his studs to kill it and then he can ping wherever he wants.

he's super up for it as well. At 2-0 he tracked across the pitch and made a tackle and jumped up celebrating like he'd just scored

After 45 minutes I can already say he'll improve our first team by quite a lot. He absolutely ran that 2nd half. He's reminds me a bit of Zidane in an attacking sense.

What makes him so remarkable is his defensive game. He reads the game incredibly well and was always in position. I know he made the error for the pen but apart from that I thought he was flawless defensively.

Given he'd had one training session that is one unbelievable debut!

Babbel a brilliant shout mate. He was genuinely a player that could have got into any team in the world at the time.

Barnes is possibly the reason I followed lfc when I was a young fella. Favourite player of all time.
