Wasn't entirely Litmanen's fault though. He was often available and Houllier just didn't select him. Even Litmanen thought - why on earth did you sign me?
    Really?

Maybe that's why he and Keita garnered so much attention from you, it was like looking in the mirror

Exactly. It's all about expectations missed

I'd put my money on him going to Leverkusen and reunite with Xabi

Given his injury record probably for the best, great player, just a shame he couldn't have had more game time for us
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I’m just glad we got to see him play for us, his performance at home to United in the 4 nil win was joyous. An absolute technician () but tough as **** and brilliant in the air, I was there when he scored vs Porto!

I’m glad he retired and didn’t go to Saudi

Good to see he’s being honest & not signing on just to collect a wage. I’ve always respected him & now even more so.

The more I think about it it’s a sad day for football. I know injuries ruined his time with us but he was a genius to watch.

Such a pity, fabulous player that unfortunately turned out to be terrible signing. Retirement is a good decision for him.

Reading between the lines sounds like he might be having a go as a manager? Would be one to keep an eye on.

Thiago's lack of availability was one of the biggest disappointments for me at Liverpool under Klopp, was thrilled that he joined us as I was convinced he was the guy to take us to the next level. There were moments where we looked invincible with him in the team but they were too few as injuries robbed us of that. It turned out Klopp's high-intensity football wasn't for him.
Good luck to him & family in the future, I bet he has a good football brain like Alonso so will expect to see him in coaching/management in the near future.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Yeah I’d love to see him back at the Academy working with the youth

I think he’ll be fast tracked elsewhere & be managing one of the larger clubs within a couple of years
