I read something on Twitter recently that said Jota had never scored a header before joining LFC.

I find that properly hard to believe given how good he is in the air.

Anyone got any tapes from his time at Gondomar and Paços de Ferreira?

Harv has seen him play every game since he was a 6 year old. I’m sure he can help with these tapes things you mention

He always finds a way to make things happen regardless of how poorly he is playing. Brilliant

Superb goal again today. Looks well off the pace at times & then bang scores a magnificent goal

He didn’t play poorly yesterday though.

Missed a good chance but scored a goal, made some brilliant runs and had some nice link up play with Firmino and Mane

Not sure if you’re replying to me or not but my comment about him being off the pace at times at times wasn’t solely directed at his game yesterday. The amount of times in match threads people have said he’s having a mare & should be subbed etc & 5 seconds later we’re celebrating another Diogo goal.

Nah it was referring to the comment before yours. 20 goals in all comps yesterday, he’s great.

Some great moments in the game from him:
                      1. Vital, vital, gold dust goal
                      2. Another assist for the penalty
                      3. Vision and movement to find a gap to run into and play a ball for Mane to really be hitting the target
                      4. Pressure release by making some 40 yard sprints with the ball and turning Watford's press completely around

I'll take that every game. Even though I agree his touch was a bit crap at times.
                      One tit for another.

Often said he doesn't do much outside of scoring, but I thought he played well yesterday, in an unconventional type of way. Thought he worked very hard off the ball and created a few chances. He's now trebled his assist tally for the season in the last 2 games. Also thought he looked a bit fitter and faster than usual.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah he had some really good moments but also really frustrating with his decision making. For the shot he blasted straight at the keeper, Diaz could have had a tap in if he just rolled the ball to the far post

I know I was moaning about him during the game for his hold up play - when he is the middle of three his back to goal game could be better…… but we’ve been spoilt by Bobby being so good at that over the years

He's not 1st choice to be in the front 3 atm for me. Great little goalscorer with some potential to be even better, but needs to improve in his general play, which I think he's doing slowly year by year. I expect him to be better next season.
                              Are we winning?

Think we need to not compare him and Bobby (when he was in monster miode) as two totally different types of player.

Better to look at Jota as almost an old fashioned (albeit very mobile) poacher who is a tip of the spear tye player and Bobby being a hold up play/develop play type player who facilitates others more than being the focal point himself.

Think when we are at full strength and have Thiago, Fabinho and another (Keita being my choice from our current squad) then we have the capability to control the game more from the centre and not need a central play builder further up the pitch and as such can cater to having three out and out attackers up front.
