I'm not sure I'd agree with that. I think his contribution outside the box has dropped off. Not getting involved enough, not finding the right ball, not carrying it as well.

He's the best pure finisher in the club. His link up play is inferior to the others.

There's plenty of games for him to contribute.
he has had a brilliant season and will only improve under Klopp. Our attacking options are off the charts.

I have to say, I don’t agree with this either but who cares, we’re all pulling in the same direction.

For the record, when he’s in goal scoring form, he reminds me of Aguero. I see him as a pure striker although he can play a number of positions.

Fallen off a cliff these last few months. Does anyone think there's anything in the theory that since Diaz came his positive impact has negatively affected Jota (and Salah)?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's been miles off it and it's been since Diaz came in really. Sure it's a blip in form as Mane went through similar and Mo has as well (AFCON and contract not helping)

I'd not start him on Saturday night, it would be Mo, Mane and Diaz if all fit

Salah's dip, by his standards, came more or less from when he went to the AFCON. So probably running on fumes at times.

Jota's dip, again by the standards he had been setting, seems to have come since Mane moved central more and Jota started getting minutes out wide as well as centrally.

...just think it's the first real big 'blip' in Jota's performances since he arrived. He's been pretty much Mr Reliable to chip in with goals off the bench or in tight, hard-fought games.

Salah has looked knackered since AFCON and that's likely as much mental as physical... losing in the final would have taken a lot out of him emotionally, especially as he sees himself as the figurehead and leader of that Egypt team. He said how much he wanted to win it, so it must have brought him crashing down afterwards...

way off his best. He was so sharp and a massive goal threat until the last few months and now sems to just plod along and make bad decisions, unlucky with a few passages of play in the last few too. It hasn't helped him being shifted around either. Mo just has looked burned out physically and mentally and it's no surprise with the amount of mins he has played. We are just lucky Diaz has kicking in when Jota dropped off & Mane has kicked in hen Mo has dropped off.

Not saying he’s not off form overall, but there’s still been some very good moments in his link up play over the last 2 games.

I had wondered this about Jota. He has been pushed down the pecking order since Diaz came in, Jota was also playing alot of his games from the left as well which is Diaz' main position, think he is probably the one missing out the most on minutes (Mane seems to have taken over the central role which was the other place Jota was getting minutes)

Salah's drop in form is ACN related IMO so many additional matches many of which went to ET, plus the psychological impact of losing that (and the WC qualifier on pens) has had an effect IMO. I thought that we should have been giving Salah more breaks in the Feb-April period in an attempt to get him fit for the end of the season. I actually think that playing wise Salah should benefit most from Diaz' arrival. As prior to Diaz coming in Salah was often doubled up on, now Diaz is getting that type of attention, you would hope that might free Salah up a little bit in terms of space on the other side of the pitch.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Not really working out that way as of yet though. Was a breakdown on play being done on a German station and during it they did a bit on Salah this season and they were able to show that even since Diaz arrived, that Salah is still the most dubled and tripled up player in our team.

If anything Salah being on the pitch is still creating space in the centre and on our left flank.

When Diaz starts adding more goals to his play, and I think that is coming, he will get more attention but since January teams still see Salah as the one that needs the extra attention.

Diaz next season though I think is going to do a Suarez and have a lot of the chances he tries to take go in. Suarez was that way at first too. Lots of attempts that seemed to go wide, hit woodwork or got blocked and then something clicked and the goals never stopped.

I recall when we signed him that Wolves said his form was patchy

He has scored some great tap ins but I don't really get excited about jota.

Any half decent striker would be putting the bulge in the onion sack so we need to see more from him.

I think for me he needs to play in the centre but the form Mane has been in makes this not an option. He’s then pushed out wide and just isn’t as effective.
