Think I would have Darwin as the starting striker with Jota as his back up.

Though that would then leave Gakpo as third choice striker and second choice left winger.

Not a bad selection head ache to have.

The one area that does stand out is the lack of pacey natural cover for Salah and I think last night it should for periods of the game how our new inverted system needs pace on the right to be an outlet.

A number of times our play slowed down as there was no width on the right and/or no pace there to play a quick pass to.

Take Salah away and put Elliot out right and we have no pace and also no width as TAA rarely ventures down the right wing either compared to how he used to.

Fine against a team like Toulouse that we can play through, but not so good against a stronger team imo.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Offers a lot, even when he’s not scoring. Was also a major reason for our upturn at the end of last season (last 10 games or so) when he returned from injury (lengthy calf injury?).
      Another MASSIVE game

I was gonna say that although others potentially may have a higher ceiling, on form shown to date for us, Jota is 2nd only to Salah, so should definitely be considered a 1st choice option for us when on form.

That hat-trick he scored in the 5-0 against against Atalanta was one of the few games I enjoyed post Covid.

Probably deserved to start against Forest, but subs last night would suggest Nunez probably will.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Loved that finish last night, was a really good goal actually.

He is arguably the best finisher out of all of the forwards, totally composed also. He see's the picture instantly, knows where the keeper is and hits the corners.

Yep, he’s a clinical finisher. I always feel like he’s going to score when he gets himself into a good position or a good chance comes to him.

He'd be great in the middle of a front three.

Yeah he’s a great finisher, just a pity the rest of his game is honking

Maybe a possible solution would be for Nunez to carry Jota about in a rucksack, then when Nunez gets into a great scoring position, Jota could simply pop out and tuck those chances away.

By the way I think Jota is an excellent presser and an intelligent player. He like Lallana but a better finisher.

I didn’t know you had this elite coaching mindset.

Reminded me immediately of Robbie Fowler's goal in the 2001 UEFA Cup Final.
                            Oh I don't know.

Yeah reminded me of Fowler also.

He made it look so easy.

if all 5 main forwards are fit against City, will be interesting to see who Klopp picks.
