Calf muscles are a ******* aren't they? Sturridge had that for most of the time he was horizontal with us.
    One tit for another.

it simply has to be our training methods. It doesn't make sense for us to have this issue every single season.

This has long term vibes. Not just a few months, but maybe even the rest of the season

Didn't get it last season or in our most recent league-winning season.

I agree though that it is probably to do with some sort of miscalculation in the pre-season work.

Yeah, the language suggests many months.

“I had to give him a hug”???

Would have been better off grabbing him by the throat and telling him to man the **** up and to get back to training.
                I don't tip

Let's be honest, they can't be considered real men until they've dangled their limbs into an industrial meat grinder.

I don't think the hug is about the time he's out, I think it is more about him missing the World Cup.

It's not about the hug, it's more about the 'wait for him like a good wife' line. The exact same thing he said when Ox and Virgil suffered long term injuries.

Also they haven't disclosed the full details of the injury. As if there's more to it, but they don't want to reveal the extent of it yet. Which again is what they did with Ox.
