Thanjk you.

When salah is quiet it's like playing with 10. That's the last 4 games he's contributed little. It's either the usual 2nd half of the season slump, he's tired or the contract situation is having an effect. Hopefully he comes good against Ipswich.
Post the numbers to back up that he doesn't score in the 2nd half of the season
The good side of Nunez performance today is the result and what it might do for his confidence. The bad side is when Harv gets up, logs on then slates us all as part clueless, bed setters etc
1 cleared off the line, one saved towards the end v Forest. One just past the post in the last ten today. Salah also gets judged differently.
The main thing in team sports is other players stepping up.
I do agree though, the contract has to be a factor. And managing his minutes though he does seem to operate better when he has rythm and is playing all the time.
My biggest gripe is that he plays pretty much all the time. If he's having a stinker, take him off. The problem is as we have all seen he sulks like a toddler. Throw in the contract situation and slot is stuck between a rock and a hard place. To be fair though he can be awful for 89 minutes and still grab a goal or assist. He's proven that on numerous occasions. Like you say there needs to be others stepping up to get more goals rather than relying on salah all the time. I think chiesa needs to be involved more and sometimes it will need to be in place of salah.
Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
I think that's probably reading too much into things, they were celebrating an injury time winner, it would concerning if they responded any differently.
For the first goal maybe but not for the second. Although I do think half of them were actually trying to make sure he didn’t take his top off. The celebrations at full time were genuine too.
The best thing about the goals is they were 2 proper number 9 finishes. People would be loving those if it was Isak. We’ve got Ipswich at home next can Darwin back it up?
I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such a player who relies so heavily on confidence. It was like turning a tap on after the first goal.
He absolutely smashed that 2nd one, in true Darwin fashion !!
Not sure i want to rely onhim, But boy did he turn up tonight!! even if he could have had 3 yellow cards in 10minutes
For me when he is running into the box he has no control. If he gets played the ball in the box. he looks a lot better.
But then you remove strength and pace which are his biggest asset, what are you left with?
I have never really rated him, but Im always pleased when he does score. I just think there are way better players out there. His finishing is below average at best. He can still cause chaos though, but if everybody is fit, he probably doesnt get on the pitch until we hit plan d.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
If he's happy to be a bench option, then as I said the other day, I've no qualms with him staying. You can see from the "Inside Training" uploads on YT that's he's a well liked member of the squad, and that he plays like he practices, with a smile. With the number of games we have coming under, we will need him, and hopefully this will be a good confidence boost.
It should be him and Jota for the middle slot, and Diaz and Gakpo out the wide. Altho I still feel Nunez could offer something from the wing, given a good run of games that get up to speed.
