    This

Our players are just as big a fanny's as some of the bedwetters on here

Cannot believe our "fans" are getting up him because he actually roughed someone up contesting a header. Its laughable at this stage really. He cant win.

But he didn't contest it...he just deliberately fouled the player with no attempt to go for the ball. A card - and therefore a ban - was minimum inevitable consequence. How does that help the team?

He has lost heart this season, even though he must've known it was his make-or-break season. I will cheer and encourage him everytime he steps onto the pitch in our shirt, but I am also realistic and his time is up.

Because a player has never in the history of football fouled a player on purpose. It literally happens multiple times a game dude.

I would've thought a ban would make people happy? You don't have to watch "the useless cunt" play? Yet again, he cant win

His time is definitely up. He doesn't suit the managers system at all and we're not playing to his strengths. He looks a shadow of his former self tbh. Confidence at rock bottom. Combine that with a lot of our "fans" fume any time he doesn't do what they expect of him and its just a bad time all round isn't it.

The fume you speak of only seems to be online though, he gets cheered more at games than Salah does. I’ve no issue with smashing guys and leaving a mark but doing it when it means missing an away top of the table clash is a bit silly, especially when he scored the winner there last season

There is ultimately no point in being part of this thread. Defending a player who is your favourite is one thing. Defending them beyond a point where there is just no balanced debate makes everything pointless.

Even if contributing neutrally. I think it was a poor challenge - specifically if the end result is you get suspended at a time when both player and team need everyone fit and contributing.

Getting called a ****ing bed wetter for pointing that out for **** sake

It was a definite yellow. Unfortunately that brings with it a ban a game before the yellow card slate is wiped.

Well screw you all, I cheered happily when he floored him. Would have done the same with any player against those cunts. They dropped us a couple times with some **** tackles that deserved cards and didnt get one. Bring back Milner. Half this lot are too soft.

Are half of the team really too soft? I don’t see that when we play at all.

Personally I'd rather he contributed to a goal or an assist vs United, rather than running into someone on purpose trying to foul them. That's just me though.

I rarely see any crunching tackles. Majority are just slight shoulder to shoulder stuff. You rarely see anyone absolutely destroy someone. Other teams do it far often. Compare to how often you see Grav being hacked down in midfield for instance. How many do Milner style tackles. I dont see any.

What do you want us to do, give away silly free kicks and mount up suspensions?

I personally don’t think that’s the way the game is going at all. All I see is players falling over at the slightest hint of contact and getting FKs. I think Macca is a great example of a player who is solid but fair in the tackle.

I’m all for passion but wiping a player out so obviously like that is high risk. Milner loved a tackle as does Endo, but I don’t see them doing that.

I think Darwin got caught up in the emotion of the match.
