Not defending Nunez here but I do find these situations frustrating, as the video shows he played Nunez all game, the contact was small but he threw himself to the ground to get Nunez sent off. You see incidents like that alot where players put their heads in and it's a yellow at most until someone throws themselves on the floor. I don't like people putting their heads in, there is a big difference IMO between that and a 'real' headbutt, I don't think the dramatics should really esculate it.Last edited by Exiled_red; 16-08-22, 06:01 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Every centreback in the league now knows he can be wound up. We'd be laughing our heads off if our defenders got an opponent to blow his fuse like that. The best way to respond is by scoring/creating a hat full of goals and causing (legal) mayhem in the opposition's defensive ranks. First game back against the bitters away; a good opportunity to make amends.

That wasn’t your normal squaring up though, was a proper butt to the face with force (albeit from short distance) - you can see his hair fly into the air as his head bounces back.
If anyone has done any kind of martial arts you’ll know that you can floor pretty much anyone by impacting someone’s nose with an upward motion with the palm of your hand, and that’s pretty similar to Nunez’s motion with the butt against this guy’s mouth/nose.
If he’d have stayed on his feet it’d still have been a red.Hello mert.

Was watching a youtube video, and it showed Nunez lash out a couple of times.
It is a bit of a worry, as this is a big boys league, and I dont think the defender did anything you would not see in every game at this level. Hopefully passions were a bit high and he will calm down.
Too early to count him out as a top class striker, but he has not exactly justified his pricetag either. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Red card might do him a favour and us in the long run. Hopefully he learns from this and the the games he misses with the suspension they work on how we play and how he fits in and to get those nerves under control.
In the two games so far he’s got into some great positions but he needs to be a bit calmer.

It is a bit of a weird tweet. He doesn't actually say sorry. It does feel like he's been forced to say sorry and that was as far as he was willing to go
Anyway so long as he doesn't repeat it then it really is no big deal IMO.

Yeah, taking a positive from this that would be it. He is going to be subject to all manor of tricks when he gets back on the pitch, so I can see the sense in bringing him in from the bench even when he gets back.Originally posted by RichC View PostRed card might do him a favour and us in the long run. It is sooo unusual to see a red for this kind of behaviour these days, he is going to have to acclimatise fast.Modifying post.
