Have no fear - any future performance even slightly below this level and it'll be back to him getting slaughtered again.

I’m just pleased the match day fans stick by him game after game after game.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Here’s one for people to think about.

If the club decides they want a new 9 next season and you had the keep one of Nunez or Jota as the back up who stays?

If you need a back up then you need him always available.

                Darwin was great v Spurs

                Now sell the prick!!

The Jota v Darwin as a back up question is a good one alright. My guess would be that they would sell Darwin purely because he would probably command a higher fee.

My bet is that our forward line stays the same next season to be honest though. A couple of defenders and possibly a replacement for Endo who might move on (I hope he doesn't) would be my guess

                    Nunez.

Jota is only a half a season man at best. Probably good for 25 to 30 games, including appearance from the bench, in all comps per season and then you have the chance that if your starter number nine was out that Jota could be out at the same time.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Dunno... Jota for me. May depend on Cheisa though.

Thought Thursday would have been an ideal opportunity for him, would have brought Chiesa on instead of Diaz.

That’s really interesting looking at the chances created and assists stats. He’s done well with those assists and big chances created especially.

Maybe that plus his availability makes him a better option to keep. Plus he’s scored 7 goals in his sub appearances and 5 have come in stoppage time. Plus four assists as a sub. 11 goal involvements in 33 sub appearances.

Takes the pressure off being the main man and lets him get at tired opposition and doesn’t have to overthink things. Is the impact player off the bench his role?

Big chances missed is not a good stat.

                                50 in 83.

He is playing better all round at the moment. Styill never going to be anything other than a support to better finishers. if he keeps up this form, he may have a future, but Im not so sure. One thing he has struggled with is finding a role in the team.

Jota is clearly the better player, though. He is just too unreliable to be considered anything other than a backup. At this poin the only player that looks like the yhave a long term future is Gakpo. Diaz has been a little disappointing in the middle. Still not sold on Cheisla as good enough for the Premier League. Reminds me of Morientes, for some reason. Salah's stay may be for a few more years, but he wont be at this level for all of them.
I thonk the defence needs to be the priority this summer.

I wouldnt be surprised to see the forward line unchanged. I think a lot might depend on Salah re-signing. I also wonder with Gakpo becoming first choice out wide, is Diaz the answer in the centre. He was on fire at the start of the season.

Still looking for the perfect mix of ingredients, but at the same time, it must be difficult for the opposition to plan against us because of the options we have.
