Felt sorry for him as you can tell he wants it badly. But he didn’t offer much when he came on, Jota wasn’t great either but at least got shots and headers away and set up the offside goal.

He looked knackered at the end of ET also which was odd. Didn’t chase back a couple of times.

It wasn't a bad penalty. He didn't sky it or tamely side foot it. Keeper went the right way. It happens. Fair play for standing up. Jota was ****ing ****.

I just think nunez has lost all confidence and his play has regressed because of it. We rarely put balls through early enough instead constantly slowing play with extra touches. There was a moment I thought shoot and previously he would have but instead he went to try and find salah. Passing the buck probably for fear of ridicule should he miss. He hasn't got the mentality but has ability. Under klopp he would be everywhere and suits a flat out energetic performance. He used to be greedy and shoot, constantly hitting the woodwork. Now under the more restrained way the team is set up he rarely gets a chance to shoot. Jota also struggles. I think it's the slot style that does them no favours. Will be interesting to see the type of player slot brings in to play that role. More a firmino style I'm guessing.

But he was in no way responsibe for tonight The other strikers had more chances and utterly failed. If he had a bit of a better touch and brain he could do something amazing with his physique.

If he cost 20 million then it wouldnt be an issue, but its probably close to 85m with addons (which we wil probably be paying after winning the league). Most of this value is weighted to later season with addons, so from a financial point of view its probably best to sell.

He did **** all. I was encouraged after ten mins but he ****ed up that pass to Salah then the weird offside thing then his head went.

It seems like a step too far for him. He might tear it up in another league, but not sure he will do it ion the Prem.
