Well, I have a slight caveat there.

Vinatieri's kicks won games for the Patriots.

But Brady put him in position to do that. Brady game managed, knowing the tools available (which included a proven, reliable kicker who wouldn't miss). He found a way to win.

Manning found a way to lose. By putting the game in the hands of a kicker he didn't trust. His record is an extension of that. Finding ways to lose.

      True.

But in a FG attempt for your life, you'd not have a problem with Vinatieri kicking it....Vandy on the other hand...no way Peyton would put the game on his dodgy right foot.

Be interesting to see now that he has Vinatieri on his team, maybe that could be the difference this year?

        Defense is the difference.

A good defense is what's undone the Colts each postseason. That, and maybe that little voice in the Colts' heads that nags at them that they "can't win the big one".

The Colts v Patriots won't be like the Broncos game. That was more of a "last team to have the ball wins it" sort of game.

Colts v Patriots should be lower scoring and I'd expect the Pats defense to step up and limit the Colts offense.

Vrabel & Bruschi plus Junior Seau playing like he's 27 again! Could be difficult for Peyton. PLUS Brady is managing the game well again.

Should be a good game to watch.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you.

Peyton should not have been looking to put the game on the boot of an unreliable kicker.

You know your available tools and game plan accordingly.

I have to say I was quite surprised at the Broncos defense last week. They just kept the same look almost the entire game and hoped their offense could hang on in a shoot out.

Belichick will be designing all kinds of schemes and looks for Peyton.

I think a low scoring game is in order, too.

Maybe something akin to the 20-3 game in the playoffs 2 years ago.

And on Junior... his play has been amazing. Tracking tight ends down field. Making stops behind the line of scrimmage (crucial considering Beisel routinely met runners 4-5 yards downfield).

He's been a big part of the difference between this year and last year. We began the season with Vrabel-Beisel-Brown-McGinest at LB. This year it's Vrabel-Seau-Bruschi-Colvin. Talk about an upgrade.

lawrence marowney to have a career game on sunday with Dillon finishing off the drives. Manning might have another great game as he did last week but i dont see him getting the same time in the pocket as last week along with open receivers. have to say i liked the look of the new receiving core of the patriots, thought they'd miss branch and especially givens. either way as has been mentioned colts will bottle it in the playoffs.

The Patriots will have an absolutely top drawer receiving corps when Chad Jackson develops past his rookie form he's going to be a monster.

Doug Gabriel was a steal and Reche Caldwell is a lot better than his San Diego numbers suggested.

Well, Mattshark, congratulations. Your boys did very well. It was a big win for them, and Manning had an excellent game.

See you in January, it will be fun to see you fall from your height

We won't have any trouble if you keep trying to pass around us instead of running. Marvin rocked last too.

                          Yep, that's true. I couldn't understand it.

We got 100 yards rushing in the first half and then abandoned the run.

There was no need to start running pansy trick plays. Just run the football and keep Peyton and Marvin off the field as long as possible.

I'm backing Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels to learn from this. They better.

                            Two big matches this week
Chragers x Bengals (barn burner that one)
                            Bears x Giants (defensive battle)

Funily enough I actually think the Bears Giants game will turn out to be an offensive battle. I'm picking the Giants for that reason. Grossman has shown some really worrying signs the last few weeks. And I now believe they could genuinely lose to anyone.

Looking forward to seeing the Chargers Bengals game. That's on sky. It'll be the first time I've seen the Chargers this year. Relishing that.

After finishing on 4-10 last week I am begining to see how unpredictable the NFL is. Which is good.
