Excuse the sarcasm, but that's not all that impressive.
The Colts were absolutely excellent on offense, but that's nothing new. If you start to judge yourselves by a performance against the McNabb-less Eagles, you're in trouble.

There is also plenty to suggest that we can beat anyteam on our day because our offence is so good. If it comes to a shoot out, we have what it takes to win. John Madden thinks it is our year too and I ain't gonna argue with him.Originally posted by hoeyd2By the way, even at their most impressive this year (winning in Foxboro), there was plenty to suggest that a number of teams could take the Colts when the football gets nasty.

Ah c'mon, it is your raison d'tre to knock the ColtsOriginally posted by hoeyd2He said the same thing last year.
Anyway, the Colts offense was better last year.
Look, they are a good team. I just don't think they're Super Bowl material.
I know te truth.
At some point we will win. No one looks any better than us on a consistant basis. This will be our yeah (We can even play crap and win this season)

this was said of jim kelly and the bills in the early 1990's - a far stronger all round side than the current colts - i dont think indy will ever win the SB with its current side. the run defence is too weak and the passing game will falter in the playoffs when it comes up against the strongest secondaries and pash rushes. there is also a pschological question mark over the team.Originally posted by MattsharkAt some point we will win.drunk knows best

Nope, I am first and foremost a Patriots fan. Not an anti-Colts guy. I just honestly don't believe Indianapolis are good enough.Originally posted by MattsharkAh c'mon, it is your raison d'tre to knock the Colts

From an abstract point of view, I don't think they have what it takes because they haven't used the regular season to improve their weak areas. The best teams know their weaknesses and improve on them before January kicks in. Look at the Pats. They started the season with a scarily weak group of receivers. Now Caldwell, Watson, Jackson, Gabriel, Brown and Gaffney have come together to make plays for Brady (Watson and Caldwell in particular have been outstanding the last few weeks). Throw in Maroney and Faulk out of the backfield and no-one is talking about the pass-offense as a weakness in the Patriots game anymore.
The Colts stared the year apalling against the run. They tried to coach it in to gear, but that didn't work. So they traded a second round pick for Anthony McFarland. That didn't work either. So now they are looking at a situation where they have a glaring weakness that has only gotten more pronounced as the season has gone on. That's a fundamental problem that goes beyond the guys on the field.
I couldn't give a rats anus how the Colts do
If New England don't win it all, then the only teams I would enjoy watching take the crown are the Giants and the Chargers.

Why do you keep saying that? I just don't get it. It's like you're trying to convince yourself that a championship is inevitable. There's no law of averages in sport - being a good team after years of mediocrity doesnt guarantee that you'll eventually win a super bowl does it?!Originally posted by Mattshark

the colts could win, as a pats man meself it takes some saying but they could win. there are just more reasons to suggest that they wont win tis all starting with the choker manning. as became clear against dallas and to a certain extent againstthe pats manning cant read a 34 defense. i reckon if harrison hadnt got injured early then the colts would have lost in foxboro, but they won so credit where it's due. the parity in the nfl is such that anyone of 7 teams can claim to be a proper superbowl contender, no use dening the colts are one of them. from a personal point of view the ravens look the team to beat in the afc and dallas have the momentum in nfc. either way wouldnt besuprised if the pts have totake a trip to te dome in indy, anything but the broncos at altitude please.

Don't worry about playing at Mile High in the playoffs this year. We will get a higher seeding than Denver. The Broncos may miss the playoffs altogether. Putting Jay Cutler in under centre (while a good move), means there is big time uncertainty surrounding the rest of their season.Originally posted by philred10the colts could win, as a pats man meself it takes some saying but they could win. there are just more reasons to suggest that they wont win tis all starting with the choker manning. as became clear against dallas and to a certain extent againstthe pats manning cant read a 34 defense. i reckon if harrison hadnt got injured early then the colts would have lost in foxboro, but they won so credit where it's due. the parity in the nfl is such that anyone of 7 teams can claim to be a proper superbowl contender, no use dening the colts are one of them. from a personal point of view the ravens look the team to beat in the afc and dallas have the momentum in nfc. either way wouldnt besuprised if the pts have totake a trip to te dome in indy, anything but the broncos at altitude please.
