    Certainly not.

I'm wasting time posting on the Internet and keeping an eye on the telly. When the cycling starts I shall be off.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Bowler bowls. Batter hits it with the edge of his stick. Catcher catches.

Shah will not be batting at three o'clock. Bloody BBC liars.

Wacky new techno gizmo called "something hotspot". Looks like a slow-motion video version of a photographic negative. Useful for detecting heat-seeking missiles I imagine. It's early days but at this stage a seemingly useless innovation.

            Cycling coverage has started.

            See you.

Oh by the way, Pietersen and Cook are trying to chat up the women tennis players on Eurosport. Pietersen has scored. Cook is showing his inexperience. The fit young woman tennis player with a lithe body glistening with sweat is unimpressed.

In view of Neils absense, the BBC gives us this cryptic missive:

1520: Collymore does KP again - Pietersen has a wry smile, Collymore adopts the teapot. Pietersen moves to 26 with a single, stepping across his stumps and tickling the ball into the on-side. Her Majesty has taken her seat up in the Committee Room, alongside Prince Phil. Her Maj, respendlent in mauve, Phil wearing the old egg and bacon tie. Apparently Curtly Ambrose tried to hug the Queen when he met her! She would have been nuzzling his inner thigh. Lovely stuff. We're off for bad light! Sorry, that took me by surprise a bit - but it's looking pretty murky out there. England 158-2

                They're off for tea.

Started late. Went off loads of times because it got a bit dark. Finished early. 56 overs instead of 90.

That's summer cricket in England for you.

Good to see Alistair Cook making 100. I thought the veteran reporter died about three years ago.

Letter from America. I liked that - it always had a nice rhythm. "When I was a cub reporter on the Baltimore Clarion, I met Aaron Burr's great-grandson and he told me a story about George Washington...I was thinking of this when I met Ladybird Johnson...The apple blossom is out in New England at this time of year..."

That reminds me of a tune....which I will perform in the underlining style:

*begins tapping right foot and wildly clicking fingers*

                              A one, and a two, and a 1,2,3,4

When you go will you send back
                              A letter from america?
Take a look up the railtrack
                              From miami to canada
Broke off from my work the other day
I spent the evening thinking about
All the blood that flowed away
Across the ocean to the second chance
I wonder how it got on when it reached the promised land?

                              I’ve looked at the ocean
                              Tried hard to imagine
The way you felt the day you sailed
From wester ross to nova scotia
                              We should have held you
                              We should have told you
But you know our sense of timing
                              We always wait too long

                              I wonder my blood
                              Will you ever return
To help us kick the life back
                              To a dying mutual friend
                              Do we not love her?
Do we not say we love her?
Do we have to roam the world
To prove how much it hurts?

Very original singing, Cap'n. I'm not so sure about the use of "etc" but at least it shortened the song.

Does eating haggis cause wind then?
