Pietersen got more drive and determination to do well. he has loads of confidence (bordering on arrogant) which is want england need.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostOn what grounds? Collingwood has stacks more experience.

I don't know how you've come to your first conclusion. Collingwood is a dogged and extremely determined performer. I don't know how you can say KP is more driven than Colly unless you know both individuals. Which you don't.
KP needs to concentrate on his batting. Colly is a much more rounded cricketer and, IMO, has the better cricketing brain. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

and mine.Originally posted by DeeGame View PostPietersen a better choice imo
I've never been convinced by Collingwood's technique. He's a good county player but I just can't accept he's good enough to put one over the Aussies.
I can see Collingwood losing his place if he has a run of bad form whereas everyone knows Pieterson is a class act.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I think English cricket needs a bit of excitment and KP could provide that with his brashness on the pitch.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostHmm, I'm not so sure.

Collingwood has proved himself time and time again at Test level. He has nothing to prove to anyone anymore. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Maybe it's a bit like you and Trezeguet
It's not his scores, although he has had a double hundred at TEST level, not ODI
, it's his technique. He has a very poor technique and any decent bowler on a decent track will exploit him.
Thought we were discussing the ODI captaincy not Test matches.Collingwood has proved himself time and time again at Test level. He has nothing to prove to anyone anymore.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Have either of them captained before?
I think both are good candidates actually. I tend to agree with Shaggy that Collingwood would be intellectually/tactically superior. However ODIs seem to get more and more aggressive KPs attitude would be good, the hope being that he learnt a lot about the game from Warne and does bring a lot of obvious intensity. We were but then you inexplicably said you reckon his technique is "very poor" - and dismissed him as simply "a good county player" - which is patently bollocks. You said you can't accept that he's good enough to put one over the Aussies - when he's done as much several times already, both in ODIs and Tests.Originally posted by Red Chilli View Post

As for this:
He's faced stacks of "decent bowlers" on stacks of "decent tracks" and he hasn't been exposed.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostHe has a very poor technique and any decent bowler on a decent track will exploit him.
He must've fluked all those runs he's scored in international cricket. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
