Is the doping such high profile now that we can believe the top riders are clean? I find it hard to generate interest when the sport has been so tarnished.

But it's the Daily Mail...
Oh well, it's her life..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Why the abuse ?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostIt already is interesting.

Now f**k off. "Someone" probably needs your protection again.
I always thought that Le Tour becomes exciting once they reach the climbs and that's traditionally the time for me to take interest. It's all about the 'Classement Général'.

You're always getting abuse; why are you asking this time?Originally posted by fredo View PostWhy the abuse ?

It was mock abuse for being disrespectful to the Tour. I understand your point of view but, while the first few days can be a bit slow - the calm before the storm perhaps - I think this one's been great so far.

I only caught up with yesterday's stage an hour or so ago. Good sprint by Hushovd..

Another interesting stage today. Does anyone not want to know the result?.

I take it no-one's bothered then.
Another good day. A really good ride by Chavanel and Gilbert with Chavanel taking over the KoM from teammate Auge.
Cancellara attacked on the final downhill in the last 10km but ran off the road and almost fell over. He finished in the first pack home and retains his lead. Kloden crashed earlier but keeps second. Pozzato won the sprint and moves up to 3rd ahead of Millar (who attacked in the last 2km but got swallowed up in the last 500m).
But the big story of the day is that Vinokourov fell on the penultimate descent, grazed his backside and hurt his wrist. He started off with loads of teammates about 50 seconds behind the lead group but despite a long chase that burned off all his teammates couldn't close the gap and lost 1 minute 20 on the other main contenders. Also of course he's now injured and will have used extra energy to limit his losses.
It tilts Astana a little more in favour of Kloden but his and Vino's performances in the first mountain stages will start to determine which of the two ends up getting greater support..

Good news for CSC fans as veteran Jens Voigt extends his contract with the Danish team for a further two years.
