He was pretty rubbish against the French in Croker. Defo at fault for a try.

btw, was anyone listening to the Last Word yesterday? Cooper was questioning Neil Francis about why Hickey is quitting the international scene. Francis was saying that it'd all come out after the world cup and he didn't want to comment any further.

btw, was anyone listening to the Last Word yesterday? Cooper was questioning Neil Francis about why Hickey is quitting the international scene. Francis was saying that it'd all come out after the world cup and he didn't want to comment any further.

Didnt hear it but Francis said on Setanta last night that because Best was gone from the team Eddie "had" to pick an Ulster player and thats why Hickie was dropped for Trimble who was **** in the first match at least Hickie had an excuse he got flattened.

Its a crazy situation that Eddie has to pick an Ulster player in the team to keep our friends up north in the blazers happy. Thats what Franics was saying and im surprised Eddie would obey that

Seemingly he doesn't get on with Cheika (Leinster boss), so much so that he was waiting to see if Leinster would replace him in the summer. Seeing as it hasn't happened and Hickey doesn't want to move he's hanging up the boots.[/rumourmill]

Dunno why Francis would be reluctant to say this, but there ya go.
It'll be a shame, Hickeys been class for us.

Thats a strange rumour Hickie up to this World Cup was playing the best rugby of his life and at 33 is running his PB if not faster. Never heard anything about his dislike for Cheika.

Can he afford to retire at 33, is he into any other business ventures...??


Well id well believe Francis that he has to play at least one Ulster player in the team, he said something else on the show last night but i cant remember what!!

It will be interesting after the World Cup to hear about Hickie and also other stories from the Irish camp, all is not well
