Ill be over in Paris when the fight is on, would love to watch the fight, but I don't have much hope to be honest.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Hope Calzaghe wins, but this Kesseler does seem a tough *******, Joe will have his work cut out, but I think his expereince wil edge it for him.

I think alot depends on Calzaghe's hands standing up to the job. If he hurts them (again) and Kessler realises he can't hurt him then he (Kessler)can walk through his punches and land his own.
Defeat for Calzaghe in this manner will spell the end of his career.

            I guarantee one thing.
Should Joe lose, and I dont think thats going to happen, there is no way in hell that he will retire. Not a chance. More chance of Slur Alex being our manager next year.
Great Champions dont go out that way and despite what some of you think of Calzaghe, he is a great champion. A rematch would have been written to the contract anyway.
In the words of another EST'er..That is all.

                        **** you

my point was just that Calzaghe would not retire directly after his first loss, thats all, and granted he may be near retirement but that bbc article didnt say anything to disprove my earlier post.
                        So...explain........

I don't think I'd defo rule out retirement if he loses DM. It's never good to go into a fight with the R word lurking around in the background. JC would have been better banning such talk but it's obvious it's something he's thinking about.

I agree Howard. I just cant see Calzaghe losing then simply retiring, rematch and another defeat then fair enough but not on the first defeat, it would sour his whole career and hes clever enough to realise that. The mark of a true champion is not how he handles victory, its how he handles defeat. Or something like that
