My point is that how can you say who's achievement was greater. For example it could be argued that Mandy Murry who is 4th in the world and got to the final of the US open and won several other tournaments had tougher opponents than the Chris Hoye. In finishing 4th in the world his achievement could be seen as great if not greater than Hoye for being the best at cycling.

No, I knew you were pissing about. That's why I twice told you to stop being a ****.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostIf only we had a kurtangle smiley.....
Sheesh, thats your soft spot.
You weren't fooling me; you were annoying me.
Now go to bed, you've got school tomorrow.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

People just use their own criteria I suppose. It's harmless enough really.Originally posted by captainfog View PostMy point is that how can you say who's achievement was greater. I'd be a lot less accepting if Hamilton had won.

If this bloke had connected, I would have voted for him as a late entrant for shoe chucker of the year. Unfortunately Iraq are not currently ranked in the top ten.
God damn though, he had 2 tries at it and missed both times
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

The BBC are upset with Liverpool snubbing their Sports Personality of the Year programme which was broadcast from Merseyside.
The Daily Mail says there was widespread anger among BBC Sport top brass that, despite a blanket invitation, not a single player from the Liverpool side or team management bothered to turn up.
The lone presence of chief executive Rick Parry failed to satisfy the BBC, one of whose senior management said: "The Liverpool team not showing up in their home city was a complete disgrace and presents the club in a particularly poor light."
A club spokesperson said Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher had 'personal reasons' why they couldn't attend, while Fernando Torres was having treatment in Spain and manager Rafa Benitez was at a conflicting club social event. The spokesman added: "If the players say they can't come for personal reasons, you can't do much about it but apologise to the BBC, which we did."
