        - to be honest fitness isnt an issue - i'm reasonably fit from all the football - just i would like to lose say between 7 to 10 llbs to just trim up a bit. I would say i am slightly overweight and I exercise enough to lose weight but I have a **** diet so it just balances out. I doubt I'd even have to go full on atkins for two weeks - i reckon just cutting out alcohol alone for two weeks would drop a few pounds off.

          I started the push up challenge last year, gonna give it another go for definite

          Did 29 last time I tried it a few weeks or so ago


          Regarding dieting. Please please please, forget the Atkins bull**** or any other 'dietary' program. They are all bollocks.
          If you're grossly overweight, then there is possibly a reason for it. But anyone looking to just lose a few pounds for summer, or in general, and KEEP IT OFF, they will not work

          You need a balanced diet. You DO NOT HAVE TO CUT OUT CARBS. You just need to make sure what you put into your body, works for your body

          I'm 30. I'm 6"2 and weigh about 13 stone. I drink pretty heavily and I do **** all exercise bar weights at home. I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, and its 100000000% down to having a girlfriend that cant eat certain things. This in turn, means I cant eat certain things! What its done tho, is ensure I eat amazingly well

          Hmm. I'm not trying to come across as arrogant and ****tish as I sound honest!

          Anyways

          Breakfast - the bigger the better. Bowl of unsweetened natural cereal, Dorset Cereals work for me but they're quite expensive. If you go to the gym, which I used to, then you should have the cereal with chopped banana, yoghurt and milk and a protein shake. Used to add frozen berries to mine too.
          If you can manage it (I cant) then scrambled or poached eggs on WHOLEMEAL bread too will set you up a treat

          Lunch - Every Monday morning I buy the following from the supermarket to have at work: Roast chicken, (no flavoured rubbish) tinned mackerel, POTATOES, 2 big bags of mixed salad, cucumber, tomatoes, cottage cheese, Uncle Ben's WHOLEMEAL rice, (microwave stuff) WHOLEMEAL bread and fruit. I make lunch out of these ingredients. Gets boring but you get used to it

          Snacks - WHOLEMEAL bread with cottage cheese, or just toasted with butter/marge and fruit

          Evening meal - smaller the better. Cereal / yoghurt w/banana / cottage cheese or eggs on toast / you get the picture. Dont have ANY caffeine after 3pm if possible, tho I dont adhere to this much.

          Walk a little every day. I walk maybe a mile and a half every day. Its not a lot, but one way is up a big **** off hill. All helps.
          I also do free weights and exercise using weights too

          Like I said, I drink. A lot. I almost exclusively drink beer and in nice big fat quantities. I sometimes eat ****ty takeaways when drunk or lazy and I also get the bus when I cant be arsed with a walk

          Point being, you dont have to live like a monk and exercise 4 hours a day to look good. You just have to be aware of what you're eating and why

          Golden rules:
          Eat like a caveman would. Nothing pre-prepared unless you do it yourself from scratch.
          Carbs are NOT evil. Just make sure they're brown. You can have as much wholemeal stuff as you want, in fact it is good for you. Wholemeal bread, rice and pasta should be eaten as and when you want. Although not late at night, as with pretty much everything



          Err sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant. I'm really not someone who preaches this ****, and I happened upon it by accident really. Anyways, its typed out so it stays!

            I totally agree with you, just want a kick start for the first 2 weeks that's all, will go back to eating carbs afterwards

              Decide on a breakfast you like ... mine was a **** off big omlette with cheese bacon and mushrooms
              Lunch like I said .. salad .. and protein usually pan fried chicken
              DInner steak and a vegatable stir fry

              If you are organized and committed its not too difficult .. after a few days you start craving everhting in between a couple of slices of bread .. but that pass;s

              With the atkins its also about stablizing your sugar levels .. you find your appetite calms down .. as in you only hanker after grun at the appropriate times .. breakfast lunch dinner .

              I have bought myself a nice bottle of spanish red .. a block of Canabert a massive french stick and some Bacon to celebrate my liberation day ... tonight whilst watching the game ..
              I have not wieghed myself yet .. till its over tonight at midnight .. but It looks like I have lost shed loads of wieght especially in the old Mug

                - fierce, thats sounds more like i want to hear - i am pretty sure that if i sorted out my diet that within a couple of weeks i'd see big improvements - like i said above, i exercise enough, not grossly overwieght, but would just like to trim off a bit of weight to look better. I do think cutting out Alcohol for a couple of weeks would do good for me. Even just cutting down would make a huge difference - i casually drink lager too often - take last night for example, two pints after footie, tonight i am going the game so will have minimum 3 pints, tmoro playing footie so will have a couple and the same thursday, few pints after footie, it's then friday and the weekend so will have plenty to drink friday and saturday night!! -

                I would be quite happy with sorting out breakfasts, i like scrambled eggs, and i could happily rotata breakfass between scrambled/poached eggs on wholemeal bread, cereals, and fruit.

                I will take on board what u do for lunch - i'd happily eat all that u list and thats the sort of thing I need to do to get me in the routine, buy everything in for the week and just make what i want from there.

                    Nicey - what about 'snacking' - is the anything u can eat inbetween meals - anything really whether it's nuts, a certain type of fruit or even just salads.

                      I promise you it will work. It seriously cant NOT work! You're getting pretty much everything your body needs to work well whilst at the same time, not putting in stuff you dont need and therefore will keep hold of as extra weight. Of course if you can cut out beer too then you're laughing, something I've never been able to, nor really wanted to do!

                      Honestly, I cant stress this **** enough. Like I said I've never really considered it before, and neither have I ever though I was overweight or needing to lose a couple of pounds; but since eating like this pretty much everyone I know has commented!

                            Actually **** it, compromise. Do what Nicey suggests but add carbs. GOOD carbs. You need them, honestly.
                            Add wholemeal rice to the chicken and salad Nicey suggested, or whack both in a toasted wholemeal sandwhich.

                            Nicey, seriously mate, get off that ****ing Atkins ****e. All that will happen is you'll put the weight straight back on! I promise you. Its totally unnecessary. You're not massively overweight are you? Just wanna get in shape?

                            Obviously I'm not saying it DOESN'T work, because you're basically depriving your body of various nutrients it needs; therefore, in order to gain energy your body will burn fat. What it will also do though, is realise that its burning fat and start to store it because its needed

                            ESPECIALLY because you're training. Cannot stress enough. You physically cant train properly without carbs, and you're starving your body of them.

                              Are these pushups doen the proper way, slowly, or are they being done fast.

                              Push ups are supposed to be controlled, with a straight back, all the way down. I can do about 15-20 like this. But the out of control fast ones i can probably do 30+

                              The dieting thing is all wank. If you starve yourself of a certain food for 3 weeks or whatever then all you are doing is removing it from your system..thus stopping your body from processing these foods properly. As soon as you start eating it again the weight will go back on...as your body isn't used to it anymore.

                                i have been doing the push ups the right way.... and your right makes a big differenc, cant believe how much diffrence it makes and also what muscles they use.....been putting my feet really xlose together as well, seems to help with stomach muscles.


                                as for the diet, they always say breakfast is a must every day, kick starts yr metabolism....the problem is you can read that many things you dont know which way to turn!!
