Aging boxer James Toney hopes to land another high-profile fight in mixed martial arts by answering Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's call.

Jackson last week on HDNet's Inside MMA program suggested Toney as an opponent. Toney in an interview published Sunday at FightHype.com responded by calling him a "club fighter" and an "Uncle Tom" who was rejected by the Detroit community last month at UFC 123, when Jackson fought Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida.

"Rampage is a black redneck. He better stick to hanging with them white boys and keep my name out of his mouth."

No longer able to land boxing matches with big-name opponents, Toney turned to MMA this year. He lost a high-profile freakshow bout with Randy "The Natural" Couture, who took down Toney quickly and forced him to tap out to an arm-triangle choke before the first-round ended.

Dear oh dear James Toney.
I hoped he would have learned from the Couture fight that anyone in pro MMA would be too good for him. If this happens he will get destroyed, again.

watched it and it was a classic ,was gutted pettis never got the next title shot, been watching him for a while now in the wec,one of the best promotions for mma that kick ,he said he wont wait now to see who wins between edgar an maynard he will fighting guida and if he wins next fight defo deserves next title shot

He's so unorthodox and accurate with his strikes, I really can't see anyone defeating him for a long long time. The only one with half a chance will be GSP if they finally get it on but even he hasn't got the skills of the Spider.

ryo chonan has beat him in the past with a flying knee bar in pride, it was fkn class, bit of luck but hey u cant win them all,in my oppinion chael sonnen was 1 min away from beating him but again the spider pulled a triangle out of his bag ,defo the best pound for pound mma fighter in the world ,the fight with gsp will be a classic if it goes ahead but wounder if it will be a catch weight cos anderson is way bigger than gsp so who goes up and who goes down in weight ,its the only fight i want to see for anderson now
