No your right, the thing with mma is that the nature of the sport makes it unpredictable, the reference was more as to the "bigger names" on the card, I'm a Gsp fan and was looking forward to watching him fight, so to me it's just similar to Suarez being taken out of the Liverpool line-up.

The network has previously offered UFC events live and free to air, most recently the Bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Demetrius Johnson.

Premier Sports is not available on Virgin Media.

So excited for that fight.

What a fight between BJ Penn and Nick Diaz last night, Diaz completely destroyed BJ in the stand up in the 2nd and 3rd rounds

Penn announced he wants to retire after the fight because he's having another child and doesn't want to go home looking like he did

I was very impressed with Diaz, I must admit I've never been a solid Strikeforce watcher but I was aware of what Diaz could do, but my opinion before the fight was BJ would be too much for him

Annoyed me a bit the way Diaz got a little over-excited after he won though, think the rumors i'm seeing now are the fact that that fight may be on. Was horrible to see BJ go out the way he did though, his eye was swollen up bad and I honestly thing he made the decision to retire at that moment thinking about his daughter, a true scrapper and the sport will miss him. Also I thought Cro Cop was going to take the fight against Big Country, was impressed with how much weight he had lost though. Congo vs Mittrione was massively disappointing IMO.

Does anyone else thing that with the induction of several Strikeforce fighters, who have become known to have more stand-up fights may lead to the UFC being a little more stand-up based rather than a lot of ground fighting?

Anyone who's seen the Diaz brothers fight before wouldn't have been surprised by Nick's reaction post fight, he's definitely a prick but he's one hell of a fighter

I expected Nelson to beat Cro Cop and the Mittrione vs Kongo fight was the snoozefest that i was expecting

Looking forward to the Diaz vs GSP fight that will inevitably come after the result last night, wether or not it will be GSP's next fight or if he'll still face Caros Condit first as planned

I think the UFC will carry on as always, as much as some of the new strikeforce fighters are good at Stand up, they've got equally as good a ground game so i can't see there being a big change

Not a huge fan of these UFC Overloads on 1 event a week for a month .. delutes the specialness of it a little
